Not surprised by it being withdrawn. Having previously won the championship bumper in a blanket finish, with a bearded apprentice on board (claiming seven lira), connections in Spain were worried that it might not stay the course. Despite trouble with his previous runner, King Power racing trainer Rudkin was again opting to apply blinkers from the start, plus cheekpieces and a hood, in an effort to keep the nag in the dark, only to hear the horse rear up in the podcasts at that. In any case, the clerk of the course had already warned the owners that Enzo would start the race seven or eight lengths behind the rest of the field, with no money for feed or tack, and therefore was likely to be pulled up shortly after Christmas.
