50 over World Cup - complete debacle.
No doubt there will be a ‘high level review’ conducted by people who wear very sharp suits. Also no doubt that they will conclude a, Top players need to play more 50 over cricket and b, overall there is too much cricket played and the best thing to do is to abolish the ‘smaller’ counties (eg: Leicestershire).
Funny thing is that there was a perfectly good 50 over competition last season, won by … er … Leicestershire.
Has anyone ever thought that what is really needed is more competitive domestic cricket involving top English players … and that the reason current internationals don’t want that is that they will be seen to be nowhere near as good as they think they are.
