Mainly teams in 60s70s when for some reason the first XIs seemed to play every week . I reckon this Dirty Leeds side could be reeled off by any 60 + football fan . The one I can’t remember was who was sub ?

A couple of my Leeds supporting mates use the names of their 1970s defence instead of numbers when playing dominoes.

Liverpool press conference and a reporter asked the manager, "What's the team for today Mr Shankly" .......Shanks, "Same as last year son". :)

Thats my first 11 Micky.

But also remember Clemence, Neal, Jones, Smith, Kennedy, Hughes, Keegan, Case, Highway, McDermott, Callaghan from the European Cup Final in 77. Must have been the first one I watched.

The Chelsea team from that FA Cup final against Leeds

I was in a regular Subbuteo leagueat the time and Leicester had been taken so I had this Chelsea team
Tommy Baldwin scored a lot of goals for me and Ian Hutchinson broke his leg when i knelt on him - I was heartbroken

I know its not really allowed but to this day Chelsea are my 'second' team, not because of their exploits on grass but on the green baize

When you look at the 15/16 team now what they achieved seems even more remarkable

The Athletic recently ran a piece about each clubs most selected XI (in the PL era of course) no surprises which one ours was....

Their names will be etched in the history of Leicester City. They have become part of the club’s folklore and the line-up will be reeled off verbatim for decades to come as the most legendary team Leicester have ever had.

It is in stark contrast to how many of them arrived at the club. From Kasper Schmeichel, unwanted by Leeds United, through to Jamie Vardy, rejected by Sheffield Wednesday as a youngster and forced to rebuild his career in non-League football, every single one of them had to scrap, fight and battle their way to the top.

They all had a point to prove and that kindred spirit created a bond that was the cornerstone of their incredible achievements in 2016. Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and the rest shook the footballing world that season and their seismic achievement is still being felt today.

1968 EC Winners at Wembley. I was there as a 9 year old!

poor Denis Law was injured so missed out on their greatest night

The sub was Jimmy Rimmer. ( only a goalie was allowed). 16 years later he started only 9 mins of the 82 EC final for Villa. So has two winners medals! Bizarre
