Rodgers said that when he came in we were a club happy to stay up. He was wrong.
He hasn’t recently claimed that we should be happy to stay up which is what Pen4 was trying to claim.
Have a go at Rodgers but let’s keep it factual.
I wonder how many of those 20 clubs had injuries like we had. Didn’t MOTD show last week that our first choice 5 defenders had played 40 games between them this season? No club can expect success with injuries like that.
Still not sure how I feel about him, happy with two 5th places and an FA Cup but I haven’t been entertained for some time now. Thankfully Top has to make that call not me.
Fuck me - a sensible post at last
I'm astonished that all the detractors never seem to take into account the number of injuries we have had. Yet despite this, we may finish in the top 10 which alone shows how far this club has improved
Two top 5 finishes and an FA CUP are quite an achievement for a middle-sized club with a middle-sized billionaire owner - I'm really not sure what more fans can expect. Top managers or players are not beating a path to join Leicester and nor will they because our wage structure can't compete with the 'bigger' clubs.
Therefore we need to develop our young players (or buy speculatively) and I reckon Rodgers has done a good job with this - our team with a handful of exceptions must be one of the youngest in the division which can only bode well for the future - if we can keep them of course
And there lies another problem for whoever manages LCFC - every season our best players are linked with other clubs and, as usual, we will lose players this summer. Managing under these circumstances is not something that Klopp and Pep etc have to worry about so they can genuinely build teams over a period of time. Not a luxury we have.
All this doesn't mean that BR is unsackable but I believe his achievements, so far, have earnt him another season.
Nothing wrong with high expectations but high
realistic expectations are probably healthier!
