Re-reading all the heartfelt and emotional tributes in Carly's 'Micky The Hoss' thread really brings home the very highest regard in which The Hoss was held by all who had contact with him, whether they'd met him or not. Primarily this related to his totally dedicated running of The Roof (as Glos succinctly summarises it "He WAS the Roof") but also for a myriad of other reasons besides which speak volumes about the character of the man. Legend is an oft-overused and abused expression but in Micky's case this is most definitely not the case.
In time-honoured Bentleys tradition I'm sure many of you would be happy to make a contribution towards a collection in Micky's memory that can be passed on to Carly to use as she sees fit. I'm happy to co-ordinate this and suggest the following routes for any donations: via PayPal to me at kevward@ntlworld.com (please leave your Roof user name so I can acknowledge receipt). Edit to add: please select the 'Family & Friends' payment option otherwise PayPal take a cut. Alternatively cash can be passed on to me (the Twat In The Vegetarian Pork Pie Hat) or my beautiful assistant (it says here) Soho on match days, either in the likes of the Blue Boar, The Globe, the not very secret Kings Head and Nigel's pub for the QPR game. Please make our job a little easier by volunteering your contributions as we won't be carrying begging bowls. We won't be noting who donates either - you know who you are. Collections will continue for the foreseeable future. Anyone struggling to donate via these methods let me know and we'll sort something.
