Already got my Irish passportThe 4 million EU citizens who moved to the UK are not returning home most want to stay and more continue to come while they can, so much for the wonderful opportunities in the EU .
I would hope all the pro-EU followers would relocate to mainland Europe, soon.
Yeah imagine..On the fishing rights, it's a real shame we didn't have someone sitting on the EU fisheries committee, fighting tooth and nail for British rights....
Good one. Shame we can't tag this and revisit in five yearsFor those interested we trade more outside of the EU than in it, also we import £67million less than we export. its not the fish that we lose but the side benefits of the processing plants that in Germany and France who sell our own fish back to us. I think this discussion can only be continued 5 years from now when hindsight says Brexit was good or bad?
Moving up into second base behind Nicholas Van whatshisfaceWe had 45 years to get any benefits from the EU, they never appeared apart from the slum landlords coining it by bring back slum housing packed to the roof with immigrants.
Come on barrel, not just Asian landlords but I do get where you're coming from.Watch the TV program "Slum Landlords bad tenants " it's a disgrace that upto EU 40 immigrants are living in 4 bedroom houses being exploted by asian landlords .This country has gone backwards in every way possible.
No doubt rents are a disgrace.Watching the program all the landlords were either Indian or from the far east and none of them were prosecuted because the powers that be are happy to let them carry on with a slap on the wrist.
Rents in the UK are the highest in Europe that's what the freedom of movement had achieved.
Was immigration an influence on you voting for Brexit by any chance?Watching the program all the landlords were either Indian or from the far east and none of them were prosecuted because the powers that be are happy to let them carry on with a slap on the wrist.

Fair play to ya, however, I know many immigrants who are no more English than you or me. Who defend everything British with a passion. It's sort of potatoe potatoI voted to join the Common Market because I thought it would drive the economy forward, the real poverty it has bought gives me nothing but a bad taste in my mouth.
Runing a country on cheap unskilled labour that have no real future has destroyed all we achieved in equality for all.
Everyone wants everything cheap, so how else can you get it cheap. Do you want to pay more for your fruit and veg? Not that the indigenous population want to do that kind of work. Pay better wages prices go up so imports undercut locally produced goods.I voted to join the Common Market because I thought it would drive the economy forward, the real poverty it has bought gives me nothing but a bad taste in my mouth.

The myth that British workers wont do the menial work is just that. Its bollocks.Everyone wants everything cheap, so how else can you get it cheap. Do you want to pay more for your fruit and veg? Yeah OK https://www.theguardian.com/environ...icking-jobs-as-romanians-flown-in-coronavirusThe myth that British workers wont do the menial work is just that. Its bollocks.
You're perfect Tory fodder. Job done for you.Capitalism works on supply and demand, to much cheap labour and it reflects in the wages paid , Thatcher was in power eight years after we joined the common market that gave us three major reccesions in those eight years on which she gained power on.
I see real poverty now and it's down to the countries inability to cope with the present population in every way, our national debt is unbelievable high .
This is what I find strange about these discussions, on either side. I think there are good arguments in favour of leaving the EU, some (not all) being intellectually coherent and empirically-based (and even if they are not then people are obviously entitled to their views). But why muddy the waters with irrelevant issues? Neither social housing nor university fees have to do with being in the EU, or not. (And fwiw my guess is that university fees are generally lower across the EU countries than here; I wouldn't be surprised if there is greater provision of social housing there too.)My son was lucky enough to go university when there was no fees and before we joined the EU it was easy to get social housing now 4 million are on a waiting list with 3.5 million council homes all full.
Wages to housing cost is way out of affordability, unskilled labour will be unable to find work because of automation yet we are unprepared for new technologies.
The UK just keeps getting more real poverty.
Scandinavia keeps wages high and people have a higher standard of living , strange that.
Fuck the Grauniad. Im not getting my info from the papers, or studies by Oxford dons with bookmarks shoved up their arses. I see it with my own eyes. As for, “digging for Britain”, three of us looked into crop picking during lockdown. The nearest place had no vacancies, the others insisted we lived on site, rather than travelling.
