Brendanballs.....page 127

That's what it used to be, the creme de la creme so the games were worth watching, then they expanded it with leagues and 2nd/3rd place teams qualifying because it's all about moolah not quality.
The problem is that would encourage FIFA to ensure certain teams had a passage to qualification even if they hadn’t qualified from their domestic leagues.

He can redeem himself (in their eyes) on Sunday with a victory at the mighty St Johnstone (A team that would probably be in League 1).

“Reality beckons, Celtic got the easiest draw we could have hoped for and failed big time. We have not improved and, to be honest, I would rather have Ange’s ‘fire intae them and get beat’ outlook than the dour pass back, pass across and nowhere until we get caught routine and get beat borefest."

Some things never change with Bodgers but Poundland Pep needs to look in the rearview mirror too.

St Johnstone have an equally inept gaffer.
Craig Levine.
Should be a classic.
Quite by chance i met Levine some time after he left City.
He said he took the job at the wrong time, because the first thing he had
to do was cut their wages and get rid of players.
But still they gave him no transfer Monies.

I’m sure he isn’t the only manager to have been given this task. The things that go on behind the scenes that we just don’t see.

"I always say it’s like the flower. A flower needs the sunshine and the rain. Give it too much sun, it dies. Too much rain, it dies. Players and people are the same. Too much praise, it hurts them. But it’s always in balance. I always have a very positive outlook in life and football. But it’s all about timing and the intervention."

UTTER CRAP FROM THE VENAL FLYTRAP.....

And that is the week after they are ignominiously dumped out of Europe and he says that basically they are not good enough.
If you were the owners and you read claptrap like that from your very highly paid elite manager you would be asking questions. Bigger fool them for taking him back.

Absolutely but I suspect he’s not very highly paid. He’s gone back there to pursue his narcissistic ways. He rinsed our club for millions. Eg. From early September when we got thumped at Brighton ( should have gone there) to when he went in early April he got another 7 months wages. Nearly £6 million. I doubt he’s on 20% at Celtic compared to us.
I’m so pleased they’ve been totally shown up in Europe and he’s gone back into ‘not my fault, always someone else’s’ mode. They’ll win the league mainly due to nobody else being anything but useless. Also their early exit will affect Scotland’s coefficient so hopefully next season they won’t get a free shoe in straight into the group stages.

He did it again at the weekend. Blaming their poor first half on players attitude and not his tactics.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "I’m still a bit angry if I’m honest. I’ve never been so angry at half time as a manager. Too many players in the first half were looking for an easy game, too comfortable.

"No intensity whatsoever. We were deservedly behind. The second half was different. That’s what you expect when you play for Celtic.

"It was nothing to do with tactics, it was about mentality. "

£3m a year until 2026 apparently. It’s not quite in league of what he got here but still the highest paid manager in the history of the Scottish league. Sickening how things just fall for him after the hatchet job he ended up doing here.

Fraser Davidson, Glasgow, said: “What excuse this time from Brendan? Last week he took a strop as Celtic were getting bullied. But the same again this week. Celtic at the moment are a side that retreat into their shell when up against a team not afraid to use their physical presence. Numerous teams have sussed this out. We cannot match up to this with what we have and Nat Philips should be on first flight back down south - he isn’t what we need and never will be.”

Paul Price, Glasgow, blasted: “Embarrassing! A good Celtic team is being dismantled by a guy that no right-minded Celtic fan ever wanted back at Paradise. He left Leicester with seven games to be played and had the nerve to say he would have kept them up. He should be sacked immediately before he loses us our tItle

I’m pleased that Paul Price has worked him out especially how he left us. I Hope Feyernood batter them on Wednesday.
Sacked immediately? Noooooo. Let him lose you the title first. I want total humiliation. I can see him looking at rental properties In Riyadh and Jeddah very soon. About his level

It's not my fault he's shit....cont'd

“He’s not a dribbler, he’s not someone who does drop in. He can do it but it’s not his strength. And that’s always the challenge for a striker who wants to affect games. But he’s very receptive. He’s not a baby, remember, he’s 28 years of age.”

He’s at it again…

Against a second string Feyernood in a meaningless match whereby both teams needed nothing and they only scored in the 91st min. You worry about the mighty Jam Tarts on Saturday

It seems he's being found out rather quickly this time, i.e. during his first season. In previous jobs he's mostly had reasonable success for a few years at least.

Just be patient. I'm pretty sure it will unravel.

How the fook did we put up with all that same old shit for so long is beyond me !!
This is the question.
‘Cos it wasn’t just the few stalwarts on a football chat forum, it was actually people on the board of a multimillion pound business.
It is truly baffling, enduring months of failure and bullshit, I’ll never understand it.

At the end of the day, Brendan talks a good game.

For a while, he had everybody on board (or bamboozled, depending on your viewpoint). Two fourth places in 2020 and 2021, a cup win in 2021. It only gradually unravelled behind the scenes. When it happened at accelerating pace from about 2022 onwards, they failed to see it and act!

A con man then, presented with the gift of the most talked about squad in Britain
