Blame

We cant keep going over and over what went wrong. We got relegated because we were poor. We are now in the Championship we have to look forward and get this coach appointment right. I can't see Top making any major changes in regards to Rudkin.

We got relegated two days ago (some may claim it was a given 2 seasons ago), it’s a bit early to give up on the blame game.
Like the rest of us, you have no idea what Top will do with regard to Rudkin.

Top won't change anything only the manager, he is not a football man like his father, he's just running a club in tribute to his father, part of the King Power empire.

Fuck me, you do talk some cunting bollocks, don't you?
Rudkin is only in his job because Vichai liked, trusted and promoted him to be his football advisor – precisely because he was smart enough to recognise that he wasn't a football man. Plenty of people have made this clear in well-informed articles and interviews over the years.
Can you give us all a rest from your wanky opinions and statements of fact, and keep them to yourself for a while?

And now breathe or better still smoke a joint.

I agree that we have no idea what Top will do with Rudkin, but surely his job must be on the line.

In his role as DoF he should be responsible for the path the club wants to take, how it plans to move forward, the overall strategy for what we want to be as a football club and how to achieve that with the recruitment and development of players and creating that churn to get improvement.

It’s likely he will also be responsible for succession planning at management level.

If you look where we are now he’s failed in every responsibility so I would guess his ‘end of season performance review ain’t going to go that well.

But I don’t know ... after all he may have been telling Top in September that he needed to get rid of Rodgers and Top decided to ignore his advice.

yes we can.
we need a good few weeks of pissing and moaning about it, before 'getting behind the lads' for their surge to 7th place next season.

Martin George, late of this parish, once said that knowing who the next manager was going to be was his primary job. That being the case, for Rodgers to be sacked with no proper succession arrangements was incompetent, borderline criminal.
That alone should be enough to justify Rudkin's removal. If Susan stays, this should be first item in her in tray. She is not without contacts, if all the stuff about her influence within the PL (not that she will have much opportunity to use this in the short term) is to be believed. Is Glover any good ? Not obviously, given none of January's signings featured on Sunday. We really do look to be in a mess.

As has been mentioned in articles our DoF was partially dragged away by the KP operation to have a hand in horse related activities.

Perhaps the learning point there is leave the DoF directing the football.

I thought the KP operation horsewise was drastically culled

Martyn Glover has worked at Everton, Leeds, Southampton and Leicester in recent years.
Remind me of the three clubs who have just been relegated and the one that just missed out...

Anyone who’s been following the recent fortunes of Medieval guilds could have told you that Glovers no longer enjoy the prestige of Hatters, Swordsmiths and Decanted Wine Merchants. Indeed, Royals, Pilgrims and sellers of Saints’ relics have enjoyed mixed fortunes too.

I think it has been, but even the slightest involvement means focus has not been where it should have been.

The blame sits squarely with Top and KP blurring the roles of the football executives. That’s not to say the CEO and DoF shouldn’t have performed better, but we don’t know the internal dynamics.

The Foxes might win the Derby

The obvious problem is that Top hasn’t the experience or possibly the stones to sack Rudkin and it will be Rudkin who undertakes the review of what went wrong this season. Not likely to fall on his sword so the outlook is grim

The club (rudkin) should have spent the last month formulating two plans for a new manager hire, ready to enact the second the final whistle blew. One plan if PL, one plan if championship.

Right now he should be well into negotiations with the identified candidate (and, if applicable, his club).

We all know this preseaon is gonna be super short, and very very busy with player trading. Essential that the new guy is in place asap.

Does anyone have any confidence that rudkin is doing this right now?

I think most people want Rudkin gone as they don't have any faith in his strategies.

They'll be even less in focus if there horse wins the Derby

If Top doesn't want to sack him then drop him back to his previous job before he got the DOF gig.
When Claudio was struggling second season he said someone in the background was making things difficult. I always believed it was Rudkin.
