Back when I played Sunday League

I got someone sent off in a game once. He swung an arm, may or may not have made contact with my teammate.

He went down, I screamed at the ref, ran to my player, he winked, I then got in the face of the referee and the player. Ref shat it and sent him off.

We went on to get our first ever win, against a country 6 times our size.

You have to play the fucking game. He swung an arm the fact he missed was immaterial. I was having that victory.

Exactly. Our players literally never bother the ref or the opposition about anything.

Don't know if the rules have changed now but in the early 90's I did my coaching badge and you needed to pass the first referees badge and the ref teaching us told us if anyone is still playing and you take a swing at someone make sure you connect because you'll be going off whether you connect or not throwing a punch is a sending off whether it lands or not
