Are we more relaxed now.

I certainly am. It’s strange but I always feel more relief than happiness. I’ll never feel the elation of 2016 or even 2021 but for sake of our club we had to go up.
I’m now happier. Helps that I’m sitting in the Spanish sunshine, a holiday booked in late January when RMS PISS THE LEAGUE was in full sail with no enemy in sight. The playoffs weren’t even on our agenda and I’ll have missed the SF due to being away.
For some reason Captain Enzo changed course and hit an iceberg which wasn’t even on the map. As he’d persuaded the owners that his Plan A was the only way, and only 50% of the lifeboats were loaded at port, our escape out of the ice strewn waters of the championship were in great jeopardy. Luckily for us, our arch rival ship, ‘Le Dirty Leeds’ came to our rescue and took all the rest of the passengers to the new multi billion pound port ‘The Premier League’.
I’m just pleased that we’ve now 3 months until our new ship is launched. Will it be a super cruiser or a coracle with holes in it. Let’s see

If you are in a punt and your paddle gets stuck you call for help........ however this is Leicester City where if things go wrong there's no alternative but to cling on to the paddle in the vain hope someone hears you

More relaxed but still can't forgive the mismanagement that led up to relegation.

TCR had a squad that should at least been mid table.

The hierarchy that sat on their hands and allowed him to do his worse need to take responsibility because it's their fault relegation occurred, their fault finances are a mess, their fault if we get a points deduction, their fault for being economical with the truth with Maresca, their fault a legacy we should have grown from has been thrown away.

Some interesting stuff on FT about how the size of the payoff to TCR would have screwed us FFP wise and that may be why they didn’t sack earlier.

Would we not have been better off sacking him well before the January window instead of wasting more money on Souttar, Kristiansen, and Tete and also dropping Ward (our current ball boy at pre match warm ups) - also an earlier sacking would have opened up a wider number of managerial replacements.

Relief is what I feel. Another season in the Championship, which, regardless of what anyone says was shite, would have probably left me seriously considering not renewing my ST.
Apart from the pre match beers, and some decent away trips the football has left me a mixture of boredom, anger, and frustration.
Next season we risk getting stuffed week in week out if the squad is not seriously strenghtend, and Enzo (assuming he stays) doesn't alter his thought process regarding how we approach games. However, if those beatings do come then it will be by teams who know how to play football at the highest level, and it will be worth watching, if only for one more season.

I'll relax once we get an idea of how the squad is shaping up.

While epxecting a points deduction and relegation, not sure I can cope watching that collection of mediocrity fumble their way around the basement of the EPL. Again.

This is what I don't get when people say we had a squad that should've been mid table. When it was proven our squad wasn't good enough and needed new blood. Our squad simply was not good enough.

It will probably be a coracle but you will be told it's a super cruiser and charged an appropriate price.
A Steve Corical?
Probably a "Bovril" boat (sludge vessel used to dump sewage in the Thames that only stopped operating in the late 1990's). A few still operate in the Trent.

It will be nice to enjoy some football as a neutral - the play-offs, final few games in the PL, Champions League final, etc. Just watching a few games with zero stress about the outcome will be a pleasant change. I'm very much looking forward to the Euros and while I will be supporting England, I tend to find that far less stressful than supporting Leicester.

Then back to reality and worrying over our points deduction and summer transfer activity....

Ermmm we got relegated which tells me our squad wasn't good enough and those are the facts
Sometimes clubs get relegated because the squad simply isn't good enough. Other times, it happens for other reasons - eg, a complete breakdown in the relationship between manager and players leading a collapse in squad morale, etc.

It is a fact that we got relegated in 2022-23. Whether we had one of the three worst squads that season is a matter of opinion. Like many others, I think there were quite a few teams with worse squads than ours. If Rodgers had been sacked a month earlier, we very likely would have survived.

That’s what we all thought at the time as we knew we were sailing close to the wind, then we find out we were already fucked.

Nothing to do with TCR not getting the best out of what he had then?

Teams like Brentford, Bournemouth, Everton, Fulham, had better squads did they?
FFS!
Table doesn't lie so yes. We had one of the three worse squads in the premier League maybe with the exception of Maddison. They played within themselves those first two seasons and there was always going to be a tail off due to injuries and fatigue. This is when we needed new players to refresh squad. Look at our defence and keeper, those teams mentioned above all had better defenders and keepers than us.

FFS you twat.
What do you think managers are supposed to do? Make a squad play worse than the sum of the parts? Or better? Go on, have a think...
And how the fuck do they tail off after playing within themselves?
You really can't help posting utter bollocks just because you like the way the letters look near each other, can you?

Indeed, the table does not lie. To go from finishes of 5th, 5th and 8th to relegation without a change in manager is the strongest evidence possible of a number of cumulative failures by the manager, and those at the Club who continued to support his decision-making in the teeth of the evidence. Largely dreadful recruitment season by season, which progressively weakened the squad inherited in 2019, the payment of unreasonably high wages, from the managerial team to the playing staff, that made players unwilling to be moved through sales, and the cost of management sacking unsustainably high, the failure to bring through much in the way of home grown talent, and a downing of tools by the manager both at crucial moments in the chase for the CL, and for most of that relegation season, well the list goes on and on. No, the table does not lie.

Ermmm we got relegated which tells me our squad wasn't good enough and those are the facts

In my near 60 years of watching football I’ve learnt ONE simple fact. With the right tactics, mental approach and general organisation, a manager can take an average team a long way. MON was the perfect example. Claudio obviously too. Emery at Villa. Pretty much same squad as Gerrard had but different results 100%. Look at Xavi Alonso at Leverkusen this season. Have they got a better squad than Bayern. No way but they’ve won the Bundesliga by a mile and will probably win the treble as opposed to Bayern winning sod all despite Kane scoring the most goals in Bundesliga history. Has Ten Hag got a bad squad. No way but he’s hopeless.
My apologies to the rest of the readers here but I’ll repeat this again. One of my best friends is Harvey Barnes auntie. He told her, and this obviously wasn’t the full version, but TCR TOTALLY switched off last season. Didn’t want to be there. Hardly involved in training or tactics. The atmosphere was palpable with many players ( not him) wanting out because of Rodgers.
The previous season we got 8th, which was a bit flattering, but we played a record 58 games, 14 of them in Europe. We lost our best defender for the majority of the season as well as bad injuries to Ricardo and JJ.
Last season was about TCR. He had enough players and a more than good enough squad to easily survive. But it’s now obvious he completely sabotaged the season by playing Ward, Amartey etc. Simple.

Surely if enough players are prepared to repeat that we could take the cunt to court to get the compo back.

I just don't get how people think he sabotaged the season. No one goes to deliberately sabotage their own team. For one it wouldn't be good for their reputation. Ward and Iverson were both rubbish. Amartey well he was best of a bad bunch. Because Soyunco who bear in mind only had one good season for us was never going to play for us again, not after his unforgivable act of pulling out of a challenge.

So you think all of the whinging to his pet journalists and moaning about the players, not to mention bizarre tactics were reasonable then?

No but every manager does that. Don't get me wrong I'm not excluding Rodgers from his part in our relegation. But I put most of the blame on people above him. He stressed his concerns after the forest cup game we lost about needing a refresh but he wasn't listened to and when he did get some help i.e Jan it was too late. Again this year Enzo has been let down by people above him i.e Sensi debacle.

We’re skint, the reason we’re skint is because we bought crap and didn’t make the most of it. No amount of whining can alter the fact that we can’t spend money even if we had it, so shut the fuck up and do your best Mr manager
