Are Man. City fans proud of their club?

I thought the same! Same with Chelsea.

As relatively easy it is to buy a ticket at Man City, only a couple of seasons ago a club member with ticket history of just three games could buy a ticket for the League Cup Final,

The same goes for Chelsea. A membership there will get you a ticket to their less glamorous league games.

They always used to be decent fans but the last time I went up there for a game the guys at the table in the pub next to me were so up themselves and dismisssive of every other team and player they discussed to the point of embarrassment. They had totally forgotten their roots and what their club was about. This prompted my comment on another thread that if we get a period of sustained success that I hope we don’t follow the same path.

Also that godawful song about us sacking Ranieri the year after we won the league when they did exactly the same to Mancini. They have very short memories.

In many ways I admire them. You take the train from London to Man U or Liverpool and it’s packed with tourists, often standing room only. It’s not at all packed for a trip to Man City, just a few London based fans.

Their stadium is now about the right size for them now. As a home fan I know it’s relatively easy to get tickets for most games.

Their transfer record paid is also much lower than other big 6 clubs however it seems this is about to change. All their spend is by stealth, they spend a hell of a lot of money but they’ll spread 200 million across 4 or 5 players. I also still believe they got Mahrez on the cheap.

They certainly got a kick up the arse last season when Liverpool won at a canter and they are taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

Yet I feel the whole thing about Man City has changed and is continuing to change, for the worse. They have that win at all costs mentality with their little fouls all over the park which has been mentioned a number of times, also their blatant disregard of financial fair play and next to no punishment for doing so. They don’t need to do that but I guess they just have that philosophy from the top down.
I'm slightly surprised by the shoulder-shrugging tone of many of the responses on this thread which suggest to me what I have suspected for some time - that professional football has become too important - so important, in fact, that many people are simply prepared to accept that anything goes and that winning at all costs is an acceptable philosophy. I have long given up expecting any decent behaviour from the authorities who speak with forked tongues, e.g. the PL and EFL purporting to apply "fit and proper person" tests whilst allowing crooks like Abramovich to buy Chelsea and UEFA claiming there is such a thing as financial fair play, but I had thought, or at least hoped, that most discerning fans would apply more principled standards to their supporting habits.

So, to answer Oadlad, I have been a supporter of this club since the mid 1950s, as I suspect he has too. Our current owners have been absolutely brilliant but if I suspected that they were using the club to launder money I would withdraw my support, even if we were to win the Champions' League thereby.

And I can't agree that any one club winning four trophies in one season would be good for the game.

Each to their own obviously but don’t think I would never withdraw my support for this club. Owners, managers come and go but LCFC is constant through the good times and the bad.

Sadly I still see some people walking around Leicestershire wearing other teams colours, usually Manure or Liverpool. However despite all their success I can't recall seeing anybody wearing Man City attire. Pleasing but very strange
Unfortunately it does happen, I cycled through Humberstone the other day 3 kids in a group of about 7 all wearing full man city kit while having a kick around.

I'm sure they will not have been as proud of thier club when they won the title as we were ours. As for Daz, you've got to be on a wind-up.
Why I'm just saying it would be great for a team to win all 4 trophies if we don't win the FA cup.

Yes, clubs' managers and staff come and go but so what if the same ways just continue?
It's the bus that needs saving, not the drivers.

So honestly Daz, if, and I hope not, it's a Southampton v Man City final, you'd be rooting for a club run the way they are over a club ran the way Southampton, Leicester, Burnley etc are?

With that, Daz has just done a little sex wee and has run upstairs to change his underwear. Hang on a few mins, when he thinks of an answer he'll pop back for a second mopping up episode.
