5th highest scorers in the Premier League last season. FACT! How the fuck did that happen with all that tippy tappy, sideways passing, boring crap? Answers on a postcard to the usual address if you please.
I have a lot of sympathy for the OP.
I only watched Sunday on TV, but I find it impossible to retain interest solely in our play these days when there's a book or magazine to flick through, or a coffee to make, or a phone call to catch up on, or the food shop to do on-line. We are really boringly predictable with the way be play Tippy Tappy Shite – at least when the Spanish do it there's more variety and elan – where as it often looks like we're trying to retrace the same little channels in the grass where the ball has just rolled. We lack players who can make the killer pass often enough to keep interest levels up.
Is anyone excited, enthralled, or even just interested in watching it intently for 90 minutes? If so, you have much better patience levels than I do. That job standing with my back to the game leading the singing section really appeals for the games I can go to!
It's very easy to quote facts like 5th highest scorers last term, but plenty of those goals were scored in short bundles against already beaten crap teams, like at the end of the season. I know that one of the main aims of it is to tire out the defending team and then exploit space that eventually appears, but the principal collateral damage is that it tires out the fucking fans first.
I also feel very uncomfortable hanging around the fringes of the ever expanding bunch of cunts who bang on about the importance and significance of dominating possession, when we were all so united against that bollocks just a few short years ago.
