An eviscerating piece about Danny Ward

Excellent article. I had forgotten about Rodgers history with Ward. And the stuff about Caspers departure screams that the most senior executives at the club (Top and Susan) lost the plot big time.

I think this just about sums it up:

"He failed the eye test from the very beginning. He’s a tall man who plays small, has no presence and exudes no confidence. Even the way he dives is odd, like a dad playing with his kids in the garden. He doesn’t resemble a Premier League goalkeeper, and never has."

IF we go down (and I personally don't think we will), allowing Schmeichel to go late in the window and giving Ward the starting spot as a reward for being a loyal number two must go down as one of the most catastrophically stupid decisions the club has ever made.

Was told by someone within the Seagrave estate that the removal of KS was an attempt by Rodgers to assert his authority, not too dissimilar to the Gerrard situation at Liverpool.

How did that work out?

Top stuff, which occupies the space between an amateur chat forum and the necessarily compliant local press,
a space I hadn't noticed existed. It never crossed mind that there were pro journos who were a big
as we were in their support for 'our' club.

I can sort of believe that, but I'm not so sure that Top would sanction this - seeing as Kasper could have died trying to save his dad.

Getting Kasper's salary off the books probably helped with the signing of theree new players, unfortunately it should have been four.

First on the team sheet is a Goalkeeper who shows his abilities to give confidence to his defence nothing else matters really.

I liked this analogy.

"......One of those decisions that seems to be about sending a message, but where you write the message on a stick of dynamite so that it blows up in your own face as soon as you post it. In New York, it cost everyone involved their jobs. At Leicester, we rebuilt the post box out of leftover McDonald’s wrappers and pretended everything was fine."

The point about lack of confidence in the keeper seeping through the whole team cannot be overstated. We can only hope Iverson steps up now . If he can well be fine .
