Amazing statement from Dean Smith

No idea what Rodgers was trying to achieve?
He inherited a very good squad, which had diminished slightly results-wise because of an attempt to play patient possession football.
It didn't work when Ranieri tried it. It didn't work for Puel.
Rodgers did the right things to begin with. On the most basic level, just keep pressing the opposition.
It protects the defence and stimulates attack.
Then Rodgers tried to revert to the slow possession tactic, in an era where pressing counter-attack had taken hold.
A complete disaster...

Yep - We dumped sharp counter attacking play and now others have adopted it.

It was a target going back as far as Vichai, to change the style of play.
Think we've chased a pipedream, when we already had the blueprint for success.
