Amazing statement from Dean Smith

Just seen an interview on the BBC and he said twice Liverpool were amazing athletes
We built a £100 million training facility and can’t run, however we are great at Darts , swimming , golf , and troffing
in a five star restaurant
The club is a joke from the board downwards and there needs to be a boycott of the Hammers game 😀

If he thinks there was nothing wrong at Fulham and plays the player who gave them 4 goals plus the one or did nothing and made no effort, then you can't be any good at this management lark.

If we were ever to stay up we had to do something different from what's made us crap, he hasn't.

We are in the realms once again of Einsteins Theory of Stupidy. Do the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

The one game he won was with an horrific line up.
He got lucky then, but he seems to think if you continue to throw enough shit at the wall it will come up roses. Baffling.

They should never have left Aylestone, training with terraced streets as a backdrop and driving there Lambos up the Saff to get there. It’s been downhill ever since. Too much pampering at facking seagrave

I don't mean to be pedantic, but the houses surrounding Belvoir Drive are far from terraced. Driving up the saff wouldn't have been the quickest way to get there either.

Apologies for the above,I've got the right fucking hump

yup, i used to train next to them at Belvoir Drive late 70's early 80s. There were big detached houses round there not terraced houses.

This fitness thing is staggering really.
The word was that the players were itching to put things right after a few of them got offended by things that was said about them after Fulham.
We got around the pitch a bit for the first 15 minutes & then we were shot for the rest of the game. Truly, truly pathetic & shameful.

After another shit show, if we’re already down, I like the idea of boycotting the last game against West Ham. After all, the players don’t respond to the fans who make some noise, and the fans that don’t can fuck off anyway.

We do look horribly unfit compared to every other team we play. It seems that as a club we have somehow lost the ability to get the basics right in all areas, including player fitness (an area we excelled at just a few years ago). What a fucking mess we have become.
Lack of fitness has been a problem all season
Players are blowing after 25 minutes in virtually every game.

I know they’re only short clips but every video released by the club at Seagrave holiday camp shows them just playing short tippy tappy games and generally faacking about .

It’s absolutely shameful that you can accept 50-80k a week and not even be fit enough to play 90 mins of football and show some faackin effort.

The minimum the fans can expect is the players to be supreme athletes For Smith to say the Scousers were supreme athletes implies we are not
The whole club is a joke and as for Terry being a defensive coach we have shipped almost three goals
per match since he arrived
Bring in Russell Martin 😂😂😂

Genuinely thought this year we might do better in the league without the added European fixtures straining our resources but no, instead we've got the worst ever PL side in terms of all round fitness and pace.

Smith said a couple of things in his interview hinting at the player profile...i.e. not fit enough (Liverpool are supreme athletes) and not tactically flexible (something like "these players play in a certain way and we have to maximise that").

I took at as him hinting that if he'd had longer they would be playing a different system and style, but with so little time he has to work with what he's got.

IF that is the case, I hope he's now realised he has to roll the dice and at least try something different for the last two games.

Spot on. We play to a script & it’s pathetic.
Iverson in that first half hit his goal kicks to exactly the same point of the pitch about 7 times. It’s truly utterly shit so called football. There is no movement from the players.

I seem to recall Smith saying in his first interview something along the lines of "I can't now do anything about the fitness of the players", indicating that he realised that they were nowhere near the fitness levels that they should be at.
