I expect it's entitlement or racism or summat, but I reckon it's about time these third world administrators twigged where exactly most of their players live, earn and improve their game – and have the simple decency not to interrupt western Europe's leagues by holding their competitions outside of the summer months.
They might even get a few more fuckers watching them if they play when there's no other football on the TV.

So firstly yes it’s been definitely going longer than the Euros
Secondly the reason it can’t in most cases be in our summer is that it’s far too hot in N Africa and in most of equatorial Africa it’s the rainy season. They basically need to play in S Africa every time.

The next one (after this one) is scheduled to be held in Morocco in 2025 - during June and July. The 2027 competition will be held in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. It is also planned for June and July of that year...

Edited to say that this edition - which is still billed as the 2023 competition - was moved to January and February 2024 owing to the adverse summer weather conditions in Ivory Coast.
