8 games, 13 points?

We're now on 25 points. To stay up and at this rate, 38 points are likely to be enough, perhaps less. At this rate of PPG, Everton in 17th would end up with 34.2 points, so even 35-37 might be enough.

We are playing:
Man City (A)
Wolves (H)
Leeds (A)
Everton (H)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Newcastle (A)
West Ham (H)

13 points from now (38 points total) would mean four victories, one draw and three losses. Three victories and four draws are not likely (lose to Man City and then stay unbeaten for the remaining seven games? I don't think so!).

Four victories (Wolves, Leeds, Everton, West Ham) and a draw at Fulham? Blimey, there is literally no margin for error there!

It might still be possible but the last three games with zero points were really, really damaging as we all know!

The only good thing is our goal difference but that won't be worth anything if we don't start winning games soon! Our players are good enough for mid-table but turning the whole mindset around in such a short time is ilkely to be too much.

And we need three teams to be worse than us. Southampton, Forest and???
Everton will probably make it to safety.
West Ham have a difficult schedule (incl. Europa League) but also winnable games and a game in hand.
Bournemouth are yet to play a number of lowly teams.
Wolves / Crystal Palace probably safe.
Leeds is perhaps the most likely candidate?

Rotherham anyone next season?

That's wishful thinking-but its over. the club needs to think about how they are going to build back stronger as something tells me they have 0 plans for this in place.

on a positive side, look at all that we have achieved its been amazing.

I'd say our chances are, sady, less (perhaps even considerably less) than 50:50 but we're not quite gone yet!

I'll try and keep an eye on Notts, Southampton and Leeds even though we could be bottom by Saturday night!

I had no hope of anything from Leeds away with Rodgers/ Sadler or Stowell in charge. Their tempo & the crowd would have destroyed us. I have slight hope now just because none of the mentioned are making the final decisions.
Im hopeful of something at Fulham for some strange reason.

Fulham are imploding. Totally safe and no Mitrovic. Iā€™ll be surprised if they win again this season. Have given 6 points to our rivals already this week.

Of the bottom teams, Fulham are yet to play Everton, Leeds, us, Southampton and Crystal Palace (the latter are almost safe now anyway). So they could indeed prove to be the "king makers" in this relegation battle, so to speak.

In the very slim hope of still avoiding relegation, the Leeds game is probably key. It's two weeks from today and probably the last and final chance as Leeds are the most likely team we can still catch. Only victory will do. Can somebody send some happy pills, please?

It feels almost ridiculous going through these thoughts and permutations. This should not have happened in a million years yet we're now so far gone that nearly all hope is lost!

Bournemouth made their luck by beating us and Fulham. They have four bottom teams (West Ham, Southampton, Leeds and Everton) still to play, so it will be awfully difficult to catch up the five point gap between them and us.

Saturday's result was so damaging!

Fucking hell the reality is we've got 1pt from the last 24pts.........In reality it would be a massive improvement to get 8pts to the end of the season, doubtful though, but it will still see us playing in the championship next season. ( End of reality check.)

No Mitrovic is a start!

We've already lost one must-win game.
Even if we take maximum points in the games we have a realistic chance of winning, i still feel we'll need one more win out of

man city
fulham
liverpool
newcastle.

Not looking good.

May be stretching the point to have Fulham and Liverpool (currently) in that list
They're all in the top half. i merely split the remaining games by which half of the table they were in.
We couldn't even draw with Bournemouth. The bar is low.
