We're now on 25 points. To stay up and at this rate, 38 points are likely to be enough, perhaps less. At this rate of PPG, Everton in 17th would end up with 34.2 points, so even 35-37 might be enough.
We are playing:
Man City (A)
Wolves (H)
Leeds (A)
Everton (H)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Newcastle (A)
West Ham (H)
13 points from now (38 points total) would mean four victories, one draw and three losses. Three victories and four draws are not likely (lose to Man City and then stay unbeaten for the remaining seven games? I don't think so!).
Four victories (Wolves, Leeds, Everton, West Ham) and a draw at Fulham? Blimey, there is literally no margin for error there!
It might still be possible but the last three games with zero points were really, really damaging as we all know!
The only good thing is our goal difference but that won't be worth anything if we don't start winning games soon! Our players are good enough for mid-table but turning the whole mindset around in such a short time is ilkely to be too much.
And we need three teams to be worse than us. Southampton, Forest and???
Everton will probably make it to safety.
West Ham have a difficult schedule (incl. Europa League) but also winnable games and a game in hand.
Bournemouth are yet to play a number of lowly teams.
Wolves / Crystal Palace probably safe.
Leeds is perhaps the most likely candidate?
Rotherham anyone next season?
