4G signal at football grounds

After the discussions on the Brentford match thread...

A friend was at Edgbaston on Saturday and was complaining he couldn't contact a mate because of a lack of 4G signal at the ground. He has a theory that betting companies have asked for 4G signal at grounds to be blocked. A lot of companies will allow betting on certain events within an over or a given ball and he reckons this is open to abuse because there is a lag between 'live' and the on-line bookies. Someone at a ground with 4G access could seen an event 'live' and then bet on that event happening.

Just a theory. Feel free to more the post to a conspiracy forum if necessary.
