2024/25 SEASON TICKETS: RESPONDING TO YOUR FEEDBACK

They've admitted 'The charge for a physical Season Ticket card is designed to incentivise the mass adoption of free Mobile Tickets'

The £25 is now going to Vichai Foundation beneficiaries, which you can choose. Bit better.

'To further emphasise the honest intention behind the charge – to encourage digital adoption and not to generate revenue – the Club has committed to donate all proceeds from purchased Season Ticket cards to the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation and its work to support Leicestershire communities. The Foundation will be working with a selected number of beneficiaries during the 2024/25 season. Season Ticket Holders that opt to pay for a physical Season Ticket card will be given the opportunity to select the cause to which they would like their £25 fee to be donated upon the completion of the renewal period'

Sorry, way short of being acceptable. I have along with most I suspect donated times many to the VF, Birches runs etc down the years. They are keeping free cards open to I don't know how many that tick a box but the rest of us have to cough up if we want one. Sorry, no. This is a panic face saving move cos they've been shamed into saying something.

And this confirms what most were thinking... the choice will be taken away from us very soon.

"As we work towards full digital implementation in the future, the Club will continue to consult with supporters to ensure a manageable transition"

Shameless.
If they cared about the charity they’d have pushed that on the first place. Rolling it out in the face of fan pressure is cynical as fuck.

Agreed. So many have stayed silent on this because it didn't affect them this year. But next year....

I'm still very unhappy. The first line of 'why we want to do this' says:"Admit supporters more efficiently into the stadium"

I can only summise no-one involved in this debacle has actually watched people try to enter. It is the opposite of efficient.

I encourage every one to not buy stuff from the club shop, or the kiosks , until they actually listen. It's the only thing that will make them listen. Buy your replica shirts from china. Sneak in your food and drink. Stay in the pub for the extra pint.

Of course not everything is PSR related but whether it is additional income or supporting communities the net impact on the PSR calculation is the same (and unlike the season tickets themselves can probably be recognised in this fiscal year I believe).

But I think the issue remains; magnitude of the cost for what it is & for me more so the underlying intent which is why...

...is the truly depressing aspect of it all.

So for those that feel this way and want to show that migration to NFC tickets should not be enforced the only way of protesting as it stands is by paying the charge. Anything else will be viewed on a purely numbers basis as compliance. And that includes not renewing because they ain't gonna care whether it is Buz_not_Buzz in my seat or whoever.

How many of the season ticket holders share there card , so £25 is a no brainer as far as I am concerned .You do that with a mobile ticket I don't believe but I am not sure about that one .

Unfortunately as someone who doesn't use the club shop or the kiosks and for whom staying in the pub for an extra pint would mean me missing half of the first half it's not much of a protest! But more power to the elbow's of those that do!

Apologies but as you replied to my post I am struggling to understand your point other than you feel £25 is appropriate for a season ticket card per se or for a season ticket card you can share (which I don't do)? If you feel £25 is appropriate then fine as long as you realise that ultimately the point is that you won't have that card whether you are prepared to pay for it or not.

Or tell them to stick the renewal in any format. As I said a couple of weeks ago, that's me done. Last game Saturday by the looks.

What pisses me off about this is that we spent years paying on the gate when getting a ticket was no issue and the club was grateful about what they could get through the gate. Nowadays getting a ticket for an occasional attendee like myself, and a fair few on here I imagine (I live away) is harder than getting a personal audience with the pope. The club are riding on the success and sell out crowds, based on a soley commercial view that flies in the face of the long term supporter. I know a fair few who share season tickets and can't see the problem with it if, for whatever reason people can't afford or are able to go to every game. The club are playing on the fact that in the PL they can sell out most games (and there are always a few tickets floating around). Build the new stand and get relegated then see how easy it is to sell out 40k each week.

And leave early whilst avoiding Harrowing’s harsh stare and finger wagging 🤨

Were you thinking of quitting anyway?
Do you have a lot of away priority points?
Once you quit you aren’t getting them back.

No I wasn't but this is the last straw. Away points not an issue as due to cost I stopped regular away trips some years ago.

Nail. Head.

This is all indirectly Mac’s fault, the club, realising next season is very likely to go tits up due to various factors have clearly done their homework on displeased fans of the past and concluded that it’s highly unlikely that a pissed up punter would venture onto the pitch and launch their phone at the guilty party.🤨

But they don't want you to pay the £25...they want you to take up the mobile ticket.
I don't have to pay the £25 as an old fart, but the take up of mobile tickets last year wasn't great, the chaos at turnstiles wasn't the best.
What happens if you haven't got a mobile phone, or one that not a smart phone

Dial up innit, phone boxes will be placed in appropriate positions around the stadium 🏟️👍

A £25 reduction in the base ticket price if you choose NFT is an 'incentive'

Anything else is a penalty.

They are more concerned about the potential lost income of a ST holder passing the ticket to a friend or even worse selling it. Not that the 'lost income' makes much of a difference given the total financial mismanagement that has come to light.

The Club is run by incompetent fools but the only positive is that 'Top' is emotionally committed to it so will at least keep putting cash in to cover the cash shortfalls (not sure that he can cover the points deductions that are coming though)

You can share the mobile tickets with screenshots so I’m told 👀

Difficult to put into words how bitter a taste this has left me with. But at least I'm stepping off on my terms not those of some smarmy tosser with a degree but no common sense. You can have your smart phone access, I've got my memories of following our team through thick and thin, up, down and across the land. Who could have ever imagined the club treating us like this. Leicester City is our club, not yours.
