Full FA Cup final ticket details

Supporters travelling from Leicester will be checked onto official coaches on the matchday and only then will their match tickets be validated for use.

I don’t understand that validation bit.
How do they ‘validate’ a match ticket?
So, say I was to buy this £45 coach ticket in order to get my match ticket (cos I’m LE3) but then make my own way to the game (train or car) would my ticket not get me in the ground?
They probably mean they hand it over to you.
Supporters travelling from Leicester will be checked onto official coaches on the matchday and only then will their match tickets be validated for use. Failure to travel by the approved means of transport may result in tickets being cancelled. Supporters must present their coach and match tickets, photo ID and proof of negative lateral flow test result (NHS SMS or email) in order to board an official coach.

It would cut postage costs but imagine the hassle of trying to find thousands of named tickets to handover, it was bad enough for the CL away games and you had hours to get those.
Is there a 'validated stamp' on all tickets going to those outside LE and then they stamp your ticket as you get on the bus.
It'll be messy both before and during the ride.

Hard to know. I know of a few people who have been to the City semi, the ManCity final, and the snooker. In most cases, loads of ticket / ID checks on the way in (after the test result check which seems to be the first hurdle), and then also en-route to seats. There's bound to be lazy caaants who wave anyone through, but there'll also be the super-officious zealots too.
But I don't know anyone who's done the travel bit too. The validation may be just a threat, I guess. Or equally they can easily cancel barcodes like they do if Filbo tkts go missing in the post. Might be worth someone checking on the ManCity forum to see how they did it – it will be the same protocol, I suspect, as it's all part of ERP...

Very sad to say I won’t be going. Stewed on it. Not going to be some glorified guinea pig. Sounds a completely fucking joyless experience in what should be one of the best moments as a fan of this fine club.
No choice but to do 2 hours each way on a bus with a face nappy on. Enforced trip to a testing site. Forced to prove who you are like you live in China or something.
It’s probably nothing to do with the club it’ll be government led I guess but either way it’s not happening.
Hope those that do go have a good time. We’ll win the thing I know we will 🦊🦊

It’s all Government led. We know this already, it’s not a surprise.

The only two things that are a surprise are that under 16’s cannot attend and the coach travel from Leicester. I’m amazed they’re not also doing a coach site from Oadby.

For those of you who are considering not going remember this is the FA Cup Final not just some meaningless game. This research is all part of helping the country to reopen again later in the year, including football stadia so we can all enjoy watching our team regularly in future. Over the past year or more many of us have lost loved ones who went to the finals in 49, 61, 63 and 69. Think how they would feel if you were to witness us finally lift that iconic trophy.

From my experience with following England away the games that give you great satisfaction to attend are the ones that are not straightforward. Those where you cannot fly directly into the city and you have to work on coach or train travel. It seems like this will be like one of those kind of trips. I’m lucky I live in London but would I travel on the coach if I lived in Leicester? You bet I would.

Gone are the days when an advert in the Merc telling all Kopites ‘This is the big one’ was enough.

Meanwhile at least 10,000 Chelsea in the ground after the touts have rounded up all the free handouts to Brent Council/locals/guest of locals... it stinks to high heaven.

Having slept on it I'm pretty sure I'll be going despite the nightmare coach scenario. I can't not be there at what may be a once in a life time opportunity. I've tried changing my address to the Republic of Quorn (sleep well buzz?) but the official site is having none of it.

A minor 'bonus' it will give me is A+ grade moan, moan, moaning rights in perpetuity and put all the other routine whingers and whiners customary complaints into even sharper perspective.

Just our luck to get to the Cup Final this year eh?

Actually specifically for this reason (not that the loved one went to every one of those finals) at least one family member wants the whole family to spend the whole day together to watch the game (i.e. on TV). But that's all about the living and I'd say it's pretty irrelevant thinking about how someone will feel who now can't (but, hey, whatever gets you through).

It is very much worded like you are been used as guinea pigs for testing the safety of long distance coach travel. Also if these conditions are for genuine research then there is very little at the test sites to stop a ticket holder who is knowingly carrying the virus arranging for a friend to take a lateral flow test using the ticket holders details as none of their details are checked.

Before I enter this afternoons scramble, can anyone advise if you can book tickets together with 1 + mates so as to ensure coach travel together?

Can't go with TF Jnr so not even going to try, plus we'll be back again soon enough.

The ticket prices are a joke, the in stadium concessions are a rip off and the thought of 6 hours on a coach for the princely sum of £45, I'll stand aside and let others enjoy the day.

Of course all law-abiding citizens will not be watching the game indoors with extended family and/or friends as that would contravene current Government rules. Or will they wave two fingers at Big Brother?

Who said anything about the family being indoors or how many households were involved?

Surely herding people on coaches increases the chances of Covid-19!?

Anyway, go down on coach! Book a train back after a night out in London town celebrating the win!

Haven't National Express been running again for some time?
But regardless, I wonder how long the coaches will wait after the game for everyone to turn up – even though dozens will be getting the train back! :p

Sad really. Finally make another FA cup final, and if someone gave me a ticket, I would give it to Bernie and watch it on telly. Its an anti-climax.

Just called 119 to find where nearest test centre for LFT. can be taken here and was told there is no difference between supervised testing or home kits.Has the the text you will get will only say positive or negative and not say where test was taken or at what time. This was NHS.official site so tend to believe them all this carp about times and test centres seem as if someone is trying it on to put people off.Are foxes from non LE postcodes meeting up for drinks before and where?
