The Man City snow clearing efforts were featured on MOTD. It wasn’t the heating that removed the snow, it was a small army with the wide brushes and spades….. as opposed to ‘the Leicester Four’Didn't seem to do very well in thawing the snow when it was settling.
Did someone forget to turn it on?
Are they not allowed to have it on when a game is in progress?
Do they not know how it works?
Saw the highlights of Man City game and their heating seemed much more effective.

Must be the warmth generated by the heated seats in Bnet's section. It was noticeable that the West side of the pitch had much less snow settling on the grass than the East side which was uniformly white covered in snow.
Why would that be?
I think you've got the wrong Fellows there John. Maybe you're just Bescotted with The Saddlers but I think you'll find they and Legia are poles apart. We needed Walsall's flares to melt the snow.
Agreed - a right Lodz of bollocks!Krakow-pot theory!
You're a fountain of knowledge...Also why did we water the pitch at half time surely that would've made it worse.
That's a right Rybnikler.I’m so Gdynia my head is spinning!
They merely did what was asked of them by the referee - that is to clear the snow from the lines and no more. At Man City the officials decided to extend the half-time interval so that snow could be cleared from the pitch (which is why their game finished after ours). The undersoil heating was operating at both grounds and was initially ineffective at both venues owing to the sheer amount of snow falling. As the snowfall eased during the latter stages of the second half, you could see that the undersoil heating was working as large swathes of green grass became visible...Including ‘Leaf blowing Larry’. It looked like our lot were totally unprepared. There should have been a whole army of helpers to clear the pitch. At 65 mins I honestly couldn’t see how they were going to finish the match
But that would be the fault of the officials and not the ground staff...What I thought was absolutely crazy was there was a massive delay when Kasper questioned the Watford goal. The ground staff then could have come on to start to clear the lines but no, they left it till that was done then started.
Then there was another stop in play and they could have cleared the centre circle but they didn’t.
That they never got an orange ball was ridiculous.
Yep couldn't understand thatDid I imagine it or were the sprinklers also on at half-time?
dont have to clear the center circle, just the lines, and yes the ball should have been changed. What I thought was absolutely crazy was there was a massive delay when Kasper questioned the Watford goal. ...also undersoil heating isn't really intended to melt fresh snowfall rapidly. It is intended to avoid a frozen pitch and slowly melt any accumulated snow before a game so that it can go ahead. Consequently the temperature applied is not all that high and you also do not want to ramp-up the temperature because you can cause damage to the grassroots apparently....
Yours Sincerely,
