Why did we play in all white?

Or even 1974
Sorry Micky but it was the 72/3 season.

From the LCFC pages.

‘Indeed, for one season only, in 1972/73, the Club did deviate from their traditional home colours, electing to wear an all-white kit for one season, inspired by Spanish giants Real Madrid’

Inspired by RM. Shame we played like Anstey Nomads that season

Have we ever had a kit that we never wore in a competitive game? I suspect not; there'll be at least one outing for every one they're flogging.
That said, I like the simple collar on the white shirt – various other Clubs' look like the collar has been put on backwards, or designed by someone who's blind...

You don't get me, I was referring to QPR (We were away last night)

All white kit with the King Power logo on the front rather than the Thailand Smiles logo. Could that explain?
KP on all shirts in the EL this season, regardless of colour or home / away. That's the only way for KP to appear on 'matchdays', although I still find it odd that the stadium is called KPS, not City Stadium...

The lady on BBC R5 on Monday night at Arsenal said " Leicester City in their traditional blue even though they're away"

I quite liked that black with a bright blue sash thunderbirds one.

The James Scowcroft vintage.

And the red away one, 1981 I think.

Old Show Ground, Scunthorpe.......Oct 87 League Cup tie. Leicester wore a yellow shirt, white shorts and socks. That Yellow shirt was very rare indeed. Only time I every saw them use that kit combination. It was the night big Jari Rantanan was carried off on a stretcher after suffering an ankle injury. Took six people to lift and carry him off the pitch. Admiral made the kit that season.

Astounding, and I can't even remember what I did last week.

Burnley v Leicester 1978 Leicester wore their own blue shirts and Burnley's yellow shorts and socks. Our kit man packed the wrong white shorts and socks which clashed with Burnley..... Welcome to Leicester Mr Wallace

Two things about Gladbach and their kits that are relevant to this chat.

Firstly they have a European kit when they qualify for European competition. Their usual home shirts are predominantly white but their European kit this season is black. In the week they played Real Madrid at home and Gladbach wore black and Real their traditional white shirts. This is something I don’t think we’ve had yet over here but it’s only a matter of time before the bigger teams embrace this to generate more money.

Secondly and only recently the Gladbach keeper Sommer has occasionally worn an outfield shirt in goal when it hasn’t clashed with the opponent’s kit. I’d not seen that before and thought it pretty unusual.

This season Fiorentina returned to traditional Goalkeeper shirts after four years when the custodian took the field in an outfield shirt. They had four colours to choose from.

Kasper did it with the brown one in the championship winning season.

I'm fairly sure Spurtz had a dedicated CL shirt a few years back, including a different sponsor. But I might be wrong – hard to imagine them stopping that once started...
