They can’t catch us

A defeat for Millwall at home to Ipswich means that they get added to the ever-growing list of teams that can’t catch us. The lowest we can finish is 18th (if we don’t suffer a points deduction).

Given that everybody from 6th down needs at least two points a game to equal our 78 points, we could probably lose all 14 games and still make the play offs!

We didn’t have the greatest result against Middlesbrough. But you have to feel for Swansea. Defeat at home against Ipswich means their dream of being champions dies for another season. They can’t catch us.

Defeats for Bristol City and Watford mean that they join the list of teams that can’t catch us. But I’m thinking of retiring this thread for fear that it could quickly become very depressing. Let’s hope it doesn’t.

I love the concept of it and it should be a joyous way to see us home.
Unfortunately Enzo hasn't read the script and decided we should make a game of it......

An away win at Sunderland means they get added to the list of teams that can’t catch us, as do Middlesbrough and Cardiff.
Fifteen can’t catch us, which means we still have to worry about the eight that still can.

Can’t believe it’s been a month since we last made sure other teams could only get second place…
A win against Norwich means that they can’t catch us. Neither can Hull, Preston nor, as TC1884 pointed out, the team from the wrong end of the M69. Which means we qualify for the playoffs as a minimum. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

What ever happens (except for an EFL points deduction) we cannot finish below the play offs, as it stands.
