I think it would be a huge pity to sacrifice Ricardo. Remember he was one of our best players last season, and he hasn't even had a chance to get into the side yet.
There is still roughly half a season to play. A lot can change between now and the end of the season, and who is to say somebody would be willing to make an offer we can't possibly turn down?
Edited to say I also hope that the people at our club that make these decisions are driven mainly by strategic foresight and what happens on the pitch and not by "pissing off Spurs fans" even though the latter certainly is fun to think about.
