The Perfect Album

For me The Stone Roses was the album that on first play I thought, fuck this is what i've been waiting for all my life.

And another for evoking childhood memories and bright sunny days is Harry by Harry Nilsson.

My Generation - Who
Down by the Jetty - Dr Feelgood
101 Damnations - Carter
Ode to Billie Joe - Bobbie Gentry
Setting sons - The Jam
Whatever you say I am - Arctic Monkeys
The state of things - Reverend & the Makers

and what Micky said, New boots & panties

Perhaps you can sort this out, I've got 'New Boots' with Sex and Drugs on the record but not listed on the sleeve, did Stiff do a second pressing and forget to alter the sleeve?
From Discogs: 1978 release (original was 1977) - "The original cover artwork was not amended, so track B1 is not listed on sleeve or disc label. The 1977 copyright date similarly relates to the original sound recordings, but this pressing was issued in 1978, as Dury's charting singles helped drive album sales."

Ah, Thanks for that, I do remember buying the album from Dave Hood's 'Network Records' must've been 1978

One of my copies doesn't have Sex & Drugs on it. I bought that one in 1977.

That was the point, Sex & Drugs wasn't on it in 1977. Only from the 1978 release when they used it to help "drive" sales. They just used the same artwork & labels (according to the source) as the original release.

Any album that has no bad tracks on it is for me a perfect album.

The Reytons debut Kids Off The Estate is a recent example of new music that’s perfect in my opinion. As is Sports Team’s second and very recent album Gulp.

The Reytons haven’t put a bad track out in 5 years. Not one that you would skip.
