The AEI (AKA Marconi Radar)

Im sure there was a BTH plant in Rugby. My Mum worked there when she came down from Wales. She “ wired up radars”.

I commissioned a Type 83 Radar, Yellow River, with Dennis Carver in 1959 for trials at Ferranti Wythenshawe for Bloodhound. It was developed at Wythenshawe and then shipped to Woomera where it was used in Bloodhound Trials work in early 1960s. Would be interested in anyone with memories of that time. Also at BTH were Tom Nuttal, Peter Lewis and John Collins. BTH also were developing the Type 87 Blue Anchor radar at that time. Pretty sure it was all at Blackbird Rd.
