Sunderland Tuesday

Never been before. Looking forward to a late afternoon sesh and a meal somewhere after the game. The match not so much.
Anyone got any pub or eatery tips?

Train to Sunderland but staying in Newcastle and probably meeting Nigel for a few beers.
We are driving up to Newcastle on the day.
Meeting Nigel somewhere near the station for a couple, then on the metro to Sunderland.
Back on the metro to Newcastle and I would imagine a few beers again.
Staying in Newcastle for two nights, and driving back on Thursday.

Sounds fantastic Arma, I do like to see a good plan of the Pre and Post scenario. Best not to mention the middle bit and go and spoil it. Have a great trip, wish I was with you. Cheers.👍

I'm on a bit of a tour. Durham today, Sunderland tomorrow, Whitby Wednesday, York Thu/Fri, Hull Saturday.
And I know already the three hours that could ruin the trip 🤣

Why? What's wrong with your house?

Nothing wrong with the house, apart from we have a team of decorators in, two dogs that need to be out of the way, so, all in all, a good excuse to get away.
And, the opportunity to sample the delights of Newcastle again.

Thats why we built the bar walls. What you up to in York?

At least Brauny he can say he has experienced his despairing emotions by going to Hull and back.

And I might go out in the evening too.
Would add the Fox and Volunteer Arms (close to each other, other direction from train station) to the slate if you get the time. Both great pubs.
Ackhorne and Snickleway also top pubs.

Due to a lorry striking a bridge (second time this season) we missed the train to Sunderland so took the cheapest option and on a train to Newcastle.

Newcastle train goes to Edinburgh
Sunderland train to who knows where but they are different companies so probably can’t claim anything back.
The single to Newcastle was more expensive than the return to Sunderland. Train to Sunderland was about a fiver more than going to Leicester, one of these new fangled cheap trains that run to the NE.
