Soumare

If Soumare ends up at a Champions league team after the dismal performances since we signed him it will surely rank as one of the best, or more accurately, worst, examples of the failure of our former elite coach to develop players under his charge.
 
Is there a reason why the club seems happy enough to put him and praet out on loan rather than selling them??? Or is it its the only way to fk em of???

if you can't sell, loans are the second best option as the wages are off the books or balanced out by income from the club they go to. it's good for ffp whatever happens.
 
I'm starting to think Praet could be a bit of a liability, Rodgers didn't want him, every time he goes on loan no offers come in for him, now it looks like the new hierarchy aren't so keen!!!

Eh? Maresca singled him out for praise after the Northampton game - he seems to really rate him.

If I was Praet I would be totally lacking in confidence and massively pissed off with the way I'd been treated over the last 2 years.

The bloke is a solid player who is easily good enough for the Championship but needs his confidence rebuilding.

He was good enough for Belgium when they were one of the best ranked teams in the world?

Leaving aside that Rodgers not wanting him should probably not be seen as bad thing, his loan was in Italy and he was reported to be wanted by Torino after it but I would assume that there is no way that Torino would have paid the money that we would have needed (i.e. at a profit against book value). There's just not the same money in the game there than here (only 3 Italian clubs in the list of the last top 20 earners as opposed to 11 PL... another League we will now be relegated from!!!) or, indeed, in many other places (except it would seem Saudi).

Personally after early positive signs I have not been that convinced about him though I recognise that has largely been based on games which have followed long absences from the team for one reason (injury) or another (out of favour with Rodgers) and where it's kind of "go on then, show us what you can do"... and where he hasn't.

My real question is, Does he really want to be here?? And I base that on nothing I've seen or heard.
 
If that shot had gone in against Napoli under the lights, the confidence boost would have given us a completely different player.
 
The question has to be - Is he good enough to help us get promoted? I think in the Championship the answer is Yes and so I would keep him unless his replacement would be better or we cant afford his wages.

my opinion is the total opposite, hes crap, hes Rodgers's Junior Lewis.
