I heard a cast iron rumour in the Blue Boar on Saturday that our final away game will be moved back to 12:30 that day, just to piss us all off just one more time.

Watch tomorrow’s space.

If it has to be moved, moving it forward to 12:30 would be preferable to moving back to a late ko from a public transport perspective.

Friday night in Blackpool. What could possibly go wrong?
1978-79 season we played Oldham away bank Holiday Monday 3.00, lost 2-1, straight to Blackpool for a night & most of the next day on the lash. Then Preston away on the Tuuesday night where we duly lost 4-0. We were fkin awful but it didn't seem to matter that much then.
Blackpool in the evening was carnage.

The rumour I heard in the Boar was it would be moved to Sunday. Thought we were listening to the same rumour?

That'd be a complete fucker (and, yes, I have done the Blackpool thing before a game though it was years ago for Blackburn last game of the season - a Sunday - and the people in Blackburn saying we were stupid staying there as Preston was a much better night out... though it is close on 30 years ago now, what could possibly have changed!?)

Probably CF. Another example of the Alkyzheimers kicking in.

Tbf might’ve been a bit confusing for someone of advanced years.
I mentioned how the last game (Blackburn at Home) had moved to 12.30. Then bloke opposite piped up with, “my mate who works for Sky tells me the Preston game will be Sunday”. We’ll see today all being well.

I won't be taking any notice of the above until it's a confirmed rumour

*Groan*

Shows how much a couple of dipsomaniacs in the Boar know, pah. This third dipsomaniac is not happy.
An ageing (pah!), alkyzheimer-suffering dipsomaniac writes: the cast iron, confirmed rumour was part right. It is indeed shit!

Well, I'm still going. Luxurious accommodation now booked.
Even considering going up on the Sunday. Decent for ale is Preston.
I shall start preparing a list of ale-houses for a two-dayer.
All (sensible) suggestions welcome. 🦊🍺

Last time I was in Preston I asked a local where is the nearest decent pub

Manchester, he replied

The Black Horse is a must methinks. No mention of cocktails. I'm sure they do shandy.

If we can’t shift 5,700 tickets for this then shouldn’t be anywhere near the Premier League
Preston brought 3,300 here midweek 😀

So tomorrow is the last 3.00pm kick off this season. Modern football eh. I thought last season ending with 4 consecutive matches on a Monday was bad
