Percy says Enzo Maresca is the man

I think this would be fantastic appointment but I'm wary about being excited about being able to get Man City reserves in.

There is a big asterisk against their titles and thre are 115 charges of FFP to be answered. Not to mention getting off when we finished 5th.

Just shows how quickly fans are prepared to overlook stuff if it benefits their team on the pitch.

...dons tin hat.

Well I'm not sure he's responsible for any financial irregularity

I don't understand the connection between the investigations into Man City's possible financial irregularities and us getting some of their loan players in.

It might be, but that still does not explain how it would affect us if we got some of their players in on loan.
Not saying we would be implicated but we would quite happy to be benefiting as a result of the project.

I was being provocative to illustrate that it doesn't take much for fans to turn a blind eye.

Calling it a blind eye is a massive stretch. Man City buy, sell and loan players all the time. Is every club that deals with them now morally compromised because there is an investigation into possible historic irregularities? Are we all expected to boycott dealing with Man City on any level while they're being investigated? What about away fans that visit the Etihad - are they also turning a blind eye? Come on - that's daft.

Now if we were all all getting excited because Thais had just sold Leicester to a regime with a horrendous human rights record, that would be turning a blind eye.

I'm just glad it's not Smith.

Hopefully he'll instill a winning mentality, but my reservations are that presumably he'll have a possession based style which may not work in the Championship - see Souza era.

If it's him, patience is required. He's basically trying to correct a whole load of shite miss management.
Unfortunately Rudkin is still in place, Tops even allowed him to do an investigation on himself. Bit like the Met police leading their own enquires.
All will be well.
Up the City!

It's just worked for Burnley
It has worked for Burnley, Fulham, Bournemouth and Norwich in the past few years. Teams that play possession football effectively tend to rise to the top in the Championship because the overall standard of football is poor. It’s a complete myth that possession football doesn’t work in the Championship.

Like many in the North East.

How the owners of clubs amassed their wealth can not be the concern of a mere fan. However football as a sport needs rules for it to work, they have to be the same for all the teams in any given league. If some break the rules without sanction we have anarchy

'gave an outstanding interview to become No 1 target ahead of other candidates, including Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker'
Can’t of been much of a challenge that. Well Stevie tell us about your management successes errrm.
Now then Scotty how did you get on as a manager so far. Yeah I was dead lucky to inherit two lower level teams with good team spirit which I was able to galvanise and win promotion. Wow that’s impressive how did it go after them successes well usually I got fired for playing boring sh1t football. Same happened overseas I give it a go got fired there as well. However I am a pretty snappy dresser. Ok thanks don’t call us we’ll let you know.
