We had a “pride” day at work last week. Photo taken with staff standing to spell out the company name wearing bright colours, well that was the plan. 95% turned up in their normal work wear and around 25% refused to have their photo taken as their religion didn’t agree with it. All black guys and girls.
We have cards that staff can fill in with any issues. We had a number of cards complaining about it, one of them even made me squirm 😳
White folk telling black folk what to think.

I know you’re the king of whataboutary but sometimes, just sometimes you need to face facts. Oh, and unlike others here I fully support gay rights.
Pretty much every one of the people that actively refused to take part were black immigrants, claiming it was against their religion and culture, you know, the cultural enrichment that you so crave.
One actually stated that it was wrong to have a “gay area” in the canteen (we put up balloons and a rainbow backdrop with the word pride) saying he shouldn’t have to be reminded that men fuck each other up the arse while he’s eating his dinner. (His words) and that it made him feel sick. A lot of the senior management we enraged at this and wanted him dealt with until I pointed out that if we took it further we would probably find ourselves in court for unfair dismissal for not taking his culture and religion into consideration.

But joking aside, it’s not illegal in the UK for folk of the same sex to have sexual relations with each other, my guess is he’s from one of the 64 countries where gay sex is illegal as most of those countries are in Africa. So I reckon we would lose any court case because it’s their culture.

Haven't some of their countries and religions been enriched by 'our' religion first? They're not all Muslims. We invaded and plundered their countries first, we invited them here to do jobs we didn't want to do. Pride is about raising awareness, some people will always be against it, no matter what religion, colour etc.

I asked how their culture enriches ours. Of course we plundered their countries (in a lot of cases first) I / we can’t change that. But pushing gay pride etc at them won’t get them to think differently, in fact it will probably have the opposite effect.
Real life isn’t all rainbows and unicorns.
