Why do we need to sell our players at such cut prices?
I've just seen Fulham are interested in Castagne but put of by the € 15 00 price tag ?? Belgium International premiership player since he arrived, Barns, England International Bar codes only want to pay £ 25 million are our purchases so poor? Or are we classed as a soft touch???

I don't think we're regarded as a soft touch. Quite the opposite - I've read a few times that we're seen as being very difficult to deal with. But unfortunately if you get relegated and need funds to rebuild your squad, you're not in a very strong bargaining position.

Self preservation, Leicester City should do what's best for Leicester City regardless of who wants to buy our players. If that means we need to sell cheaper in order to relieve the financial burden of operating in the 2nd tier then so be it.
If Top is now a bit more confident about King Powers recovery after a bleak period, then maybe the club won't need to buckle to the circling vultures.

The hunters become the hunted. Same problem at Newcastle. Some Saudi club has bid £22m for Saint - Maximin. But they quibbling paying no more than £30m for Barnes because they’ve a problem with FFP. They can bugger off. They were happy to pay £60m for Tonioli

If we were a soft touch, Barnes would have left by now, as would Castagne. The sale of Maddison was important as it freed up wages and funds quickly, and enables time for the other deals to happen when we want them to. If Maddison was not made of glass, reckon he would have gone for more cash.

Maguire, Mahrez, Chilwell and Fofana sales shows the club has historically done pretty well on getting decent prices for players.

One interesting fact about Maddisons sale which may have been overlooked, is that it was announced in June. That may mean that a big chunk of the fee was paid 'last year' and will fall in last years accounts, addressing some FFP issues perhaps.

Yes apparently we had to sell him by June 30th. Spuds knew that and with nobody else interested, it meant Spuds could turn the screw on us. They got a very good deal out of it. Sadly

You can't say players were shit all last season, and then expect clubs to pay top dollar for them.
If they'd been that good, we wouldn't have gotten relegated.

Indeed though I think it depends on when the registration rights were transferred. The club officially changed accounting periods from May 31st to June 30th during the season so it looked likely to be the case that they might do something like that. Although usually when the money is paid makes no difference to FFP (just changes where things are recognised in the balance sheet), if the deal is consequently recognised in 2022/23's accounts that would mean they would presumably include the full profit (essentially total fee to be received minus book value minus Norwich's cut). Taking into account the 2021/22 losses then, even with the Fofana profit last season, it might well have been needed for FFP given our reduced turnover as a result of less merit money & no UEFA funds (though you'd imagine bonus expenditure was much reduced also!!!).
