New Bands, New Music

I was hoping for an EP before the new tour but was not expecting a new album.

Still tickets left for Kasbah in Cov if anyone is interested? Lottery Winners and The Clause are supporting, I definitely recommend it to all.

Just been watching the lottery winners on YouTube. Seems like a fun band. Looking forward to watching them.
 
Here are a few new bands from the post punk/ Goth side of things, Ist Ist from Manchester, Talk to Her from Italy and Then Comes Silence from Sweden
 
I’ve not seen Lottery Winners yet but I want to. Someone told me they were okay but not great. I’ll find out for myself soon enough.
 
I saw Sports Team last night at Roundhouse, Camden. They were awesome, such energy and great songs. I recommend Gulp their second album.

The sound quality isn’t great there, it echo’s a bit but as a building it’s fantastic.
 
Talking of Sports Team I've managed to bag a ticket to Steve Lamacq doing a live show on 6 Music’s T Shirt Day on Friday 4th November with Sports Team playing some live tracks. It’s at Maida Vale Studios so should be a pretty cool afternoon.

I saw Then Comes Silence supporting The Bellwether Syndicate in Sept. Not bad. bought 3 of their albums from the merch desk.

Fake Fruit - pylon/talking heads raincoats scratchy post punk.
Messer Chups - surf
Com Truise - synthwave
Kontravoid - gothy foetus
Cold Cave - new order joy division
Spike Hellis - gothy dance
Kaelin Mikla - icelandic goth
yama uba - a pal who does gothy stuff.
MsBoan - supported Portion Control and were very good, electroshocky.
Body Double - great post punk band from oakland

and not to forget the fabulous Drab Majesty gothic synthwave from LA.

A good selection of music there, I love Bellweather Syndicate and have music by Twin Tribes, She Past Away, cold cave,Kaelin Mikla and Drab Majesty. We saw Bootblacks and Actors last week who were both excellent

The Lottery Winners are very good Daggers, fun band live so much so I bought a couple of their CDs. Wondered whether their live act could carry across to CD and I’m happy to report it certainly does.
Musically for me. If the scissor sisters and the beautiful south had an illegitimate child.
