I made reference to it a week later.
Bookclub said it was nothing to do with the thread.
I made another comment last week. Bookclub said “hopefully” things will improve.

Like I said on the emissions zone thread, battery powered cars are not the future, it is just moving the problem elsewhere.

They cure the immediate problem here, that of air quality, but shift the problem of manufacture and more relevant the recycling of the old batteries to another country.
 
I'll be surprised if you get any greeny takers on this. Great guys at slinging shit. Equally great guys at getting the hell out of here when faced with threads like this.

We've already discussed this sort of stuff. I've never claimed EVs are the answer to everything, I don’t own one. Now this is being highlighted more it will improve. Or maybe we just carry on doing nothing and claim it's a money making scam.
 
We're not "doing nothing", car makers spend squillions on making their products more economical and reducing emissions. The trouble is because EVs are seen as the way forward a lot have stopped this development.

It was a mistake asking him about the little black kids. If I remember rightly he admitted he didn’t give a fuck about his grandkids as long as he could get a game of golf in so why would he give a fuck about a few hundred black kids a few thousand miles away.
 
About 4 years ago, a druggy teenager I was helping, came out with so much sense over all of this that I was shocked.

Adults three times his age couldn't see through the bullshit and just how impossible the situation was.

It is impossible, whatever anyone tries to do there's always someone looking to pull it apart and say why it's not right. As much as some people refuse to believe it, we are on the way to worldwide disaster. It won't happen in our lifetime, but we can't carry on the way we are.
 
I think we're probably in more danger from some nutter with his finger on the button than climate change
