I've Never Been Asked To Watch Football Like This

Ever before.
The players I was swept away by in 1966 like Cross, Sjoberg, Nish, Stringy, Doog, Banksy, Rodrigues, Bobby Roberts would be mortified to be associated in any way with this abomination masquerading as football.
Its like the game has been stolen away from me.
I feel lost because this isn't right. This is not what I fell in love with.
It feels like Leicester City don't want me anymore.
Oh Well.

I hated Pleat I hated Holloway l wont even mention the other silly born prat but l may have been disgusted by there lack of football nuance but you were never bored

Redemption is on its way.
It can't be far off a KP crowd venting their full feelings.
Whilst we are top they'll get away with it but if it starts to slip away after being in such a dominating position then we could see a Sheff Utd style revolt.
They need a performance prompto or this bollocks will gather momentum

I don't think we are an outlier though.

You'll see variations on this philosophy at 90% of the clubs in the top leagues in England. As noted in other threads we've played variations of this style since puel.

Blame pep, blame analytics, blame whatever you wish. This is where 'elite' football has evolved to. And done correctly it is successful, just not very dynamic or as exciting as you are used to.

Yes we have played variations of this style but how we played under Claudio was the complete opposite (thank goodness).
It grieves me to say so, but Leeds don't play like this; theirs is a much more aggressive approach.
Last night was dire. Although Wednesday were totally lacking in any real skill, and are bottom of the table because of this, I do not think any of our supporters who paid good money to watch in the freezing cold would begrudge them their point. And it could have been more; our fannying around at the back in the first five minutes would have had us two down against any decent side.

We’re not fucking “elite”!

No chance. 90% of that crowed didn't kick up a fuss last season.

somebody will one day go back to 2-3-5 the old method is still to come but employing fast raiding wingers supplied by winghalves still has credit, still the most dangerous play I football is the cut back by wingers from the bye line and here's where you need your strikers but it's creates havoc

I want to see us back playing the Ranieri (1st season) style of football, defend bloody well and attack with speed and purpose, on paper we look great but on the pitch is feckin boring, I don’t want to see us struggle for a point against the bottom team, or get beat by northern monkeys Hull, Leeds & Boro, we are Leicester City and we used to be magnificent, get stuck into the bastards.

It’s football by numbers . Dull and sterile

The days of Leicester fans kicking up a stink are long gone.

Soft a shit now. Clapped a team off getting relegated.

Well since ' fuck off and die ' we have managed to squeeze in our best ever years, perhaps the younger generation have not had the usual doses of misery yet for them to get truly pissed off about.

So, if you demonstrate your unhappiness about something in any way other than "kicking off" you're not a true fan? Who decided this?

I did.🙄

Come on now, football as always been a passionate tribal affair .
Are you telling me that the fans show their discontent by sitting silently and just taking it on the chin ?
They might do in the short term but I don't know any club whose fans don't become more vocal when things are against them.

Plenty of our fan base on another planet.
Had a chap by me on Wednesday belting out the ole’s at the end of the 1st half as we were doing a round of 30 pointless passes.
Also there was a rendition of “you’ve seen the Leicester, now f### off home” with about 5 minutes left.
Imagine thinking of singing that when it’s only 1-0.

I've been reading Stanley Matthew biography and he talks about systems and how a new surprise system often works and teams who have new ideas win things. Our ideas are not new - 2-3-5 would be. We are boring shite and seriously, who wants to watch it ! l'm going out of habit but when the habit breaks will l go back ?

Its close, I'm going today mainly for a day out but l won't bother with many more. I've only been QPR and Rotherham this year, one was because had a night in London and the other because l had fuck all else to do and it was only a hour away.
