What’s your point ? The meaning of course is the next 5 years from 2018 would cause irreparable damage to humanity if fossil fuels weren’t replaced . Not that the world would end in 5 years .
Seems to me we are starting to witness that damage now as crop yields reduce ,arctic ice sheets melt and sea levels rise causing disruption to the delicate balance of the jet streams which control our climate . Hence the unseasonably cooler weather here and the extreme heat and preponderance of wild fires in Southern Europe .
The most worrying element I saw was the temperature in The Arctic hit 28degrees .
If you’re not worried about your kids’ futures you’re a bit odd.
As you are usually the first to worry we are all being ‘played’,you are remarkably easily “played“ by the misinformation pumped out by the fossil fuel lobby .
I expect such gullibility from your fellow freaks on here ,but thought you were a little more discerning .

Yes . But did not say when or how long this would take . Just suggested an irreversible tipping point in 5 years ( from 2018 )
I guess crop failure , water shortages, rising sea levels , mass migration of people with the resultant wars , won’t take more than a generation or two.
It’s one view . We can of course find slightly different models, but to deny its increasingly likely possibility given all the available data is naive in the extreme .

This bit is particularly interesting, as most of the anti-immigration mob are also climate change deniers. The small boat arrivals now are going to be a drop in the ocean compared to what's going to happen when people flee famine and wars over scarce resources.

He's right though. Current immigration levels are nothing compared to what's coming. Anyone who doesn't like immigration should logically be at "Greta level" on the green scale...otherwise they are directly responsible for immigration to the motherland 😁

I best explain for the stupid people.
A top climate scientist (as opposed to a bottom one) said five years ago if we don’t stop using fossil fuels in the next five years then we’re fucked.
Well we haven’t so we’re now fucked according to the top climate scientist (as opposed to a bottom one)
So no point changing our habits, then we can save a few darky kids in the Congo.
Is that simple enough for the stupids to understand?

As usual, those that disagree deliberately misunderstand. If changes aren't made within 5 years then they believe we'll have reached a tipping point. Hopefully the prediction was wrong and we still have more time to make proper changes.

So, you’re saying hopefully, the top climate scientist, as opposed to the bottom climate scientist, was wrong. Is that the same hopefully the mining companies start acting responsibly and not have some many deaths of little black kids and hopefully not fuck up their ecological system.

Couple of things to remember (facts) - Fossil fuel" is NOT derived from fossils, oil is basically limitless, its actually the 2nd most abundant liquid on the planet. Its kept as rare, to control the price and the control that the price brings with it. Secondly our carbon levels are fine, they are in perfect balance, if they dropped, of which these evil liars are kidding us about, then plants would start dying out and then the balance would become dangerous.

Foxonwater, do a bit of research before you spout the party line bullshit.

I suggest you start by visiting one of the great libraries . Maybe the Briitish library on Euston Road .
Here you can spend a day or two reading properly researched , peer reviewed , scientific papers on subjects you have completely failed to understand , like immunology , or climate science .
But as I suspect you’ve never visited a library or even opened a book since you left school at 16 I doubt you’ll take up the advice .
