Favourite gig and why?

Mine…
Mid week gig at Tottenham uni (would that be right Dags?)
Anti flag (warm up gig prior to them opening on the main stage at reading festival)
Support from the Cancer Bats and Black Lungs (side project of a couple of members from Alexisonfire)
Queuing to get in a rumour goes round that the Cancer Bats were not appearing. Then someone pointed out across the road in a side street Alexisonfire having an impromptu game of footy.
Quite an intimate gig with around 200 people.
Turns out the rumours were true. Cancer Bate had missed their flight (typical stupid Canucks) so the Black lungs opened the show followed by Alexisonfire, then Anti-flag.
Must say up to that point I’d not really heard much of Alexisonfire but live they were awesome.

Just googled it. 2008 London ULU

Pogues at DeMont. It was just an amazing atmosphere from start to finish.

Kaiser Chiefs in Brum, little venue tour just as they had made it big, the gig was electric, they knew they’d made it, the crowd knew and it was just an electric atmosphere.

OK, I wasn't at the concert - but anyway. I went to watch a Mike Tyson fight at the Convention Centre and John Cougar was doing a stadium show next door at the Exhibition Ground.
Both events finished at the same time and tens of thousands of people streamed out in a mass - the boxing fans being deeply pissed off that the Tyson fight only lasted about 90 seconds. Anyway, the fight mob just started hauling off and belting the John Cougar crowd. 'John Cougar is a wimp!'
Small riot started and I got out of there. Weird night.

Went to one of those oldies reunion type tours at the waterfront. Wilson Pickett opened and hundreds of mods in parkas piled in and did their thing. Pickett finished his set and the mods just vanished in a heartbeat. Johnny Cash came on and hundreds of Skins appeared to hear some white heritage music. I just wanted to see Johnny Rivers do 'Seventh Son'.
Wandered over to a smaller venue to see Del Shannon. After the set, wandered by Del's limo and his extremely hot young girlfriend was beside it. Buddy I was with said something rude and she game him a real shot in the mouth and walked off, cool as a cucumber.
Always seems to end in violence.

if you don't count U2 or The smiths at demont, it would be red house painters at the islington powerhaus, as i got to sit next to Ivo from 4ad and chat to him all evening.
