Emma Hayes

oh, you better don your tin hat then.
Go on then.
When I was bothered about the national team I never cared what nationality the manager was (ideally they should be English) of it meant we’d do better as a team.
First thoughts are that why does it matter if it isn’t a male as manager but the sad thing is we’d have to put up with some sad boorish comments and chants.
Lineker being the one who pushed the idea also wouldn’t go down with a lot of the Daily Mail readers.

I’m not sure what the players wives would make of a woman in the changing room.

Aren’t there a few female masseurs and trainers in the game nowadays? They’ll have access to the changing room.

When Wimbledon we’re at their peak they had a female trainer.

Are you aware of the fact many women's teams are managed by men?
I know the lines are getting blurred now but are you aware that there are still significant differences between women and men?

Very different to join a team with an opposite sex manager/coach than having one brought it

Why is it?
Surely some of those women’s teams must have had a change in gender of management, if they dealt with it why couldn’t the men?
Do you seriously think a wag is going to kick off if their partner suddenly has a woman joining the management team? There are gay football players, do their partners kick off if the management is male?

Try telling your missus you're having a shower in front of a woman she's never heard of.
There is quite a lot of potential for discourse.

Perhaps if it was one on one situation, think a football changing room is somewhat different.
