Daka

We've scored 3 or more goals 11 times this season?
Daka has started 6 of those, and only once when he's started have we scored less than 3

He trapped the ball into the net for the first, every time it’s hit up to him it bounces off his shins about 10 feet.
He is shite but what he does do well is chase defenders down and puts them under pressure.
And that sometimes makes useful space for others.
Reminds me of savage at times, running about with you hoping someone else gets the ball

6 goals and 3 assists in 9 league appearances.
I’m assuming you attend the matches?
I’m not saying the stats are wrong….. but I’m watching a bloke that looks clueless on the field of play, not to mention weak… and what are his stats on losing possession?
I can’t be the only one that sees a couple of dozen passes between Leicester players culminate in Daka receiving the ball and falling to control it/ get tackled/ fall over etc.
And these stats…..recorded against dog shit opposition

Goals are goals, Vardy and Nacho were failing to score earlier in the season, Cannon looks like he could be decent but none of them are making things happen like Daka. His pace and pressing result in goals, assists and points, may not look pretty but it’s somehow effective.
I’ll take boring football and a pub player if it gets us promoted with a record number of points and a ridiculous goal difference.

Please don’t let my opinion of Patson Daka be confused with any criticism of the amazing progress the squad are making with Maresca, it is brilliant and surely above everyone’s expectations

It’s almost as if the team is so good, Maresca feels he can even put Daka on the pitch

Nice all round he scored.

He won’t be here next season and he’ll enjoy the near £10m in wages he’s taken from us. We signed a Championship striker for the top flight.

Can’t wait until he and his ilk have left us.

Cannon is still coming back from an injury and it's a long season so rotating players is always good. Championship is all about how you rotate your players and we are doing that very well.
Because you don’t have to rotate your players in the Prem

It depends on how you interpret and present the statistics and more significantly which statistics you chose to support your argument. They can mean lots of different things as has been shown by this thread

Brian Lara or Geoff Boycott
George Best or Wayne Rooney
30% possession or 70% possession

It's not always what they do, it's how they make you feel.

I am looking at his goal and assist record in the last eight games - Hackney laid it out perfectly clearly. If those stats are not good enough for you then I would suggest you are being deliberately blind.

His touch, control, strength on the ball, and the majority of the time his movement are poor.
Granted, at this level he's scoring. But anyone to think he's a good footballer has either never played the game or is on a wind up.

Tartan sums it up exactly in his above post.

I'm sure some smartarse will quote" stats and goals win games", but if they seriously think that if we want to improve as a team we need to keep him they're deluded.

He's not very good.

Why won't he be here his contract isn't up. If we have Daka and Cannon as our two main strikers that will be fine.

But as we are struggling for money him and Cannon might be our best bets as strikers.

We are struggling for money due to the fact we're paying over inflated wages to sub standard players. Therefore struggling to sell them.
Cannon on his brief appearances so far this season looks a decent acquisition and shows some promise.

Iheanacho really doesn’t want to be here and offered very little earlier in the season. Vardy cannot start any more. That Daka is weighing in with goals is a real bonus and something we didn’t have earlier in the season.

Goals win games. He may not be that good but he’s effective and it’s working right now.

We need a couple of forwards next summer and they cost money.

Do tell you what?
How many 'sitters' he has missed as you are tracking it so closely. For the sake of balance don't forget to include any other 'sitters' missed by other players - KDH missed one for example.

While you are at it could you share some details on all these late goals we have conceding which are a problem? We have only conceded 23 so I would be intrigued by the statistics (not they matter do they?)

I’m not tracking it, that’s why there’s a question mark. You’re the one telling us about Daka’s stats.

I haven’t mentioned late goals or KDH

Have you been drinking?

I commented on late goals not being an issue on another thread - you Implied that it was an issue

It's clear that you arent tracking much at all.

I get that 6 goals and 3 assists in 8 games is poor by the high standards expected by many on here
