Credit where its due

Absolutely Thorney. This place is normally in meltdown when we’re not performing but tonight it’s eerily quiet. How queer. Where is Kendal and his numerous love children?

our confidence came back after the 3rd and we started playing the ball faster.

The teams nerves have been shot to bits for month now, looks like we'll finish the season on a high.

Everyone knows we have the best squad in the division, but no one dare take a chance or shoot on sight or gamble with a tricky pass, second half tonight we were our old self.

Absolutely brilliant performance. The pressing from the front was a joy to behold.
Faes schooled adams & didn’t give him a seconds peace, which was great beens as he normally does alright against us.
Atmosphere was top draw again.
Oh & what’s that clown Martin talking about saying it was a foul on Adams for the opener. Is he blind, Adams fouled faes.

To be fair, it was much better, and I didnt see it coming. Im sute I saw that the stats had us behind on most aspects, including good old possession, except the most important one. I believe the same applies to WBA. AnyThing in that, or just coincidence? Less stupid tip tap in our own half? More risky attempts to create in the final third?

You watched it then 😉

We are currently between Hawaii and San Francisco on our cruise.
We are 10 hours behind so the game finished at noon here.
I followed it on BBC Sport and Twitter.
I then saw the highlights on YouTube and I have had all day to gloat to my wife who is a Plymouth Argyle fan.
9pm here so time to have a few drinks 😀

Kendal was not watching as his stick kept buffering every few seconds so l switched off, not on the Internet, stick is an old one and can't afford another

Hope that helps Kev.

Sorry to hear that me duck. You missed a great night. You wouldn't mind not watching again would you? I think there could be a link between the two events.

Never mind what people say on here, the manager was not overly impressed with our performance. He said we have played better during the season possession wise. He is not a big fan of this Ranieri type football.
Selective hearing loss there Algar I'm afraid... He said he didn't think it was our best pressing performance of the season and he went on to say an "overall fantastic performance, on and off the ball".

Let's just remember there was plenty of criticism on here even when result wise they were doing very well.
It's not just been a case of throwing the the toys out because they've had a bad run. Fans weren't happy with certain aspects despite those results. Personally I think the criticism had more validity when we were getting good results. You couldn't be accused of sour grapes then.
Quite clearly there have been too many times when the low tempo has frustrated the life out of people, also aided and abetted by the managers persistent selection of players like Daka.
There are also been times when the football has been excellent and we have looked a class above most in the division.
Last night after they had done the hard yards we looked a totally different team to the ones that laboured so badly against Bristol, Millwall and Plymouth.
You could see why there as been an increased level of dissatisfaction after those games. They almost thrown away an unassailable league position with some pretty lacklustre performances. It wasn't just a blip it's been nearly a quarter of the season where we haven't been good enough.

Football, funny game as we all know.
Southampton going great guns then inexplicably lose to Cardiff which knocked the stuffing out of them for last night. We rode our luck against West Brom, but those vital 3pts gave us a bit of leeway and more confidence to tackle a potentially dangerous opponent.
After the shambles at Plymouth there couldn't have been much hope for 6pts against the Baggies and Saints, so big credit to them for finally showing the much needed grit that's been missing much to often since the New Year.

Hopefully we will now get over the line and my god we need to. Failure to do so this season would almost certainly condemn us to probably years of struggle.
Whilst the prospects for next season look bleak with the sanctions and point deductions looming, at least they will be able to start from a position where we can get our house back in order rather than from the oblivion of this division and worse.

Rather struggle with an extra £140m in TV money. Let's get the job done Monday night.

Did I not see on SKY and hear on RL that we only had 36% possession. I got the impression on interveiw he was pleased with the result, it was not enough controlled tippy tappy football for Enzo. I will listen again on the Podcast to his post match interview.

I thought we played better because of the lack of possession. Saints having more of the ball allowed us to find gaps rather than us facing two banks of four.

Those on here who know about tactixcs etc., can you comment on my view that since the players' meeting and possibly before, we have moved away somewhat from Enzoball and now mix it up with a game more about using space and quicker transfer of the ball to our pacier front men?
So there are fewer passes but because we pull teams on to us we can create more space in front of us.
Also, Madds is inclined to punt it longer as part of the same tactic. It's also better in making it harder for opponents to press us in posession.
Of course, this works better if teams fancy themselves and don't rely on a low block.
When in operation it has brought back the more exciting elements of our previous years.

I was just providing a direct quote from the man himself on RL news this morning. It was just a short snippet. I can't vouch for whatever else he said.

It was actually 34% possession. As has been said elsewhere that bears very favourable comparison with the 2015-6 season.

The full version bears out AlgarFox's take IMO.
You complain about his 'selective hearing', when you quote RL's selective editing into a "snippet"?? :ROFLMAO:

Last night was fantastic...back to playing great football 70/30....fatawu was on fire...vardy rolled back the years....kdh never stopped hustling.
My only gripe would be why daka ? His usual cameo where he does bugger all...oh well you can't have it all....blue army

I will moan when they are shite, which they have been for the majority of the games since the New Year, and compliment them when they are good, which they were last night.
I still can't see why Mavididi stayed on as long as he did though.
With 34% possession it was evident that Enzo ball was tweaked a bit last night.
I wonder who instigated that??
