Could be promoted against Southampton

Crazy as it may seem that this team of bottle merchants might clinch promotion
if they beat the Baggies and Southampton next week and Leeds lose at the Boro
Strange times 😄

we have to win 3 out of 4 to be promoted, thats if the other 2 win all their games.

we can't rely on others fucking up, do we have the guts to treat these games as cup ties ? I'd say no.

so we will have to rely on the other 2 rubbish. teams to let us get promoted.

So if either lose one game we need to win two only. Sad way to get promotion innit.

Somehow let’s beat West Brom and put the others under pressure.

Despite what I said the other week us three unable to win a game of football coupled with Southampton’s late winner means they may yet have a say in this.

Totally agree Bnet
Any team winning three from ten should be nowhere near promotion
Teams with players that would have struggled in a good pub team to get a game should
not be in a promotion winning side
A manager who can only play one style of football should not be managing a promotion winning side
A club so totally mismanaged should not be winning promotion
But eh oh we are Leicester and we do crazy things and long term fans like you and me have seen
many crazy times 😀

You and Bnet are spot on. 95/96 was a similarly bonkers promotion campaign, in terms of runs of form. When McGhee deserted us in search of a bigger dessert, we were top. Then our form was all over the place in the early months of MON. In spite of those two memorable wins in the smoke inside a week, we still needed to win the last four games to squeak into the Play Offs. Success tends to scrub out a lot of the painful memories of how we got there. It’s only the failed promotion campaigns that fester (like 69/70).

I’ve just watched both Leeds and the Ipswich games. How they both didn’t win is beyond unbelievable.
I said to Wints last Saturday that if we win these next 3 games I felt we’d be very close to going up by the following Sunday.
( today). For once I was right.
Whoever said they were trying to work out the results is bonkers. That prediction table of Kevs is probably being led by someone with 2 points right now. Who’d have thought a few weeks ago that nobody in this division will get to 100 points but that now looks very probable.

Our form is terrible yet dirty Leeds got 37/39 points this year, with the one draw out of 13 matches being at Huddersfield! before getting just 5/15 recently and lucky to beat Hull in their only win. It’s all gone a bit mad.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Southampton go directly up. It’s that’s stupid right now.

Totally agree...they are the only team winning at the moment, wouldn't be a surprise at all if they go up automatically.

After a mid season slump we were never really in serious contention in 69/70 if I recall correctly and our good finish made it look closer than it was. At least it made FOF aware of what needed to be done for next season. Toughen up the midfield which he did admirably. 69/70 was the end for those great servants Bobby Roberts and David Gibson.

69/70 was any funny season to remember because l was 12 -13 and started to get to love the football fan culture, little skinheads basically, and all that went with it. l think football and the fucking about was equal, the world was opening up for us at that age.

I remember it as a season that promised an instant return to the top flight, until that slump in December and January. But once we started winning again, I really thought we could do it, right up until that Fern winner got stuck in the mud in front of the Kop.

Yes that the bit I remember, a football pitch goalmouth resembling a ploughed field and the ball stopping dead in a puddle!

I sent Whuru a supply of my pills a couple of weeks ago and they've obviously kicked in. Another big blow to the naysayers hereabouts. If they can work on the man who makes Kendal sound like Daz then they can work on anyone!!

Any more for any more?

I wouldn't admit to that, it's not something to be proud of. Basically acting like a criminal and hooligan. By the way is the world you always openly criticise?

Just to say that in the late 60s/early 70s being a skinhead didn't mean you were a 'criminal and hooligan'.

It was as much about style - the hair, the clothes, the shoes - taking a pride in your appearance.

It was about music - soul and reggae. Getting into dance halls and parties. Turning up with Motown and/or Reggae Chartbusters albums under your arm would help with that.

Fitness - you wanted to look good and feel good.

It was about scooters and above all having respect for others - your mates, neighbours, elders.
