Maybe the bumbling, incoherent twat who currently passes for The PM of The U.K. will stop using the phrase “ the people of this country want” before announcing his latest nightmare ‘vision’ for ‘Global Britain’
There was apparently a lot of tactical voting, so those who would normally have voted Labour (still not a huge amount in that area) voted Lib Dem. Also a lot of self-interest in opposition to HS2, which the Lib Dems oppose.Trouble is the Leader of the opposition's party got less than 800 votes. Almost 1000 less than the greens in third.
Lol.Labour , Lib Dem’s and Greens should put together a progressive alliance and pledge PR. Labour won’t do it as they still have a vested interest in the outdated 2 party system .
I fear we are in for a decade of this tired corrupted regime .
The country needs change . The system won’t allow it. Something has to give.
If only we were all as clever as you. If only the electorate could see what you can see.57 % of the country didn’t vote for a posh Old Etonian who lies to you on a daily basis . Many more are catching on fast .
Bend over and let the posh boys shaft you .
What slogan did you fall for ?
Levelling up ?
Get Brexit Done ?
“ Woke” Learnt a new word without a clue what you’re ( You are ) on about ? You’ve ( You have ) well and truly fallen for the con artists .
Idealistic bollocks.Silly me for wanting a system
of government where our representatives work for the good of the people who elected them rather than the people who donate most money to their party .
Meanwhile what has offended you today ? Statues ? Young men kneeling ? Students taking down pictures ? Other people’s sexual preferences What folks choose to wear ?
Cos that’s what’s really important isn’t it ?
Idealistic . Probably . But if enough people say this is shit were not having it as did last night we might make life better .Idealistic bollocks.
At some point you might get that what you see as good is not exactly a priority for most people.
I suggest a period of reflection might be useful but maybe you actually like being a loser
Why put 'won' in quotes?Silly me for wanting a system
of government where our representatives work for the good of the people who elected them rather than the people who donate most money to their party . That’s Labour and Tory by the way .
Meanwhile what has offended you today ? Statues ? Young men kneeling ? Students taking down pictures ? Other people’s sexual preferences What folks choose to wear ?
Cos that’s what’s really important isn’t it ?
Incident P4. As you probably voted for Johnson and his delightful bunch .
What do you think you have personally ‘won’
You tell me what you consider to be the pressing issues and let's see how they compare to the real worldIdealistic . Probably . But if enough people say this is shit were not having it as did last night we might make life better .
What are the ‘priorities’ exactly ?
No we cannot.Whatever my priorities are - they will be different for different folks .
For what it’s worth it boils down to well funded public services .
My point is , it would be nice to have a government whose priority was not to enrich themselves at your expense ?
Maybe we can agree on that
On that we are in full agreement lolTell you what P4 . This shows how shit the England game is
I’ll think on
Populist policies like low taxes always sounds great until folks can’t get a doctors appointment or their bins don’t get emptied.I can tell you what the problem is and it is simple.
We have, over the years, allowed the government and it's 'agencies' control over aspects of our public and private lives that it has no business getting involved with.
Small government, low taxes, free trade. Provide a secure country in which that can take place and forget everything else.
Morning Fg. Feeling quite chilled this morning so planning a quiet one, no rants today.Populist policies like low taxes always sounds great until folks can’t get a doctors appointment or their bins don’t get emptied.
The current 3 word slogans approach to policy appeals to those who don’t like to think too much about politics but as is becoming very apparent,
are disastrous in the real world .
Not havin that! How can anyone criticise free healthcare?Morning Fg. Feeling quite chilled this morning so planning a quiet one, no rants today.
Given the state that western countries have got themselves into (even pre-covid), it is hard to see how my simpler approach could actually be any worse.
My views in this instance would not be populist, it would require a huge change in peoples attitudes and a culture of self reliance and personable responsibility that goes against everything that we have now.
Your comments about doctors appointments is telling, the assumption that health care should be there for the asking is just reliance on an old and broken system. I feel this is the case across all public services, they routinely fail us, cost a fortune yet seem immune to criticism of any serious failings.
It's not free. Unless...Not havin that! How can anyone criticise free healthcare?
Of course you can. Have as many as you need. It's free at the point of delivery. We all pay for it, it's not about having to use your share because of how much you put in.It's not free. Unless...
I need another heart procedure, will you pay as I need it to be free?
But if there is no 'delivery'?Of course you can. Have as many as you need. It's free at the point of delivery. We all pay for it, it's not about having to use your share because of how much you put in.
Seems to me like you want some sort of caste system.
I don't know how long you would have lasted. They gave priority to Covid. If they hadn't there would have been a lot more deaths. You believe otherwise, ut I was addressing your point about free health care. But if there is no 'delivery'?
I had an acute problem that was more or less controlled by drugs, they kept me alive but the side effects were horrendous and the deterioration in my overall health was noticeable, even on a week by week basis. The waiting list to get on the schedule for the procedure I needed was 10 months, then I would be assessed to see if I would be 'eligible'.
So possibly as long as a year to wait, frankly I doubt if I would have lasted that long.
If only we were all as clever as you. If only the electorate could see what you can see.
Meanwhile - you keep losing. Reflect on that
On reflection
Not supporting the winning side in an election doesn’t make you a ‘loser’ . History often shows you chose the right team . A lot of Germans voted for Hitler. I once voted for Thatcher . It took about a month to regret that .
I am totally convinced not voting for Johnson was the right call , and by opposing pretty much everything he has done - History will show me right .
So there is a 'caste' system among diseases is there? They prioritise Covid, a disease with a 99.7% survival rate over heart disease that responsible for 27% of all deaths in the UK. Seriously, you think that is sensible?I don't know how long you would have lasted. They gave priority to Covid. If they hadn't there would have been a lot more deaths. You believe otherwise, ut I was addressing your point about free health care.
Don’t see what’s wrong with hoping for a government which aims to create a fairer more equal society. This lot for all their ‘ levelling up’ bollocks’don’t give a flying fuck about the likes of us .Why put 'won' in quotes?
You tell me what you consider to be the pressing issues and let's see how they compare to the real world
Give me three specific priorities that don't include words like equality
Thinking in society, they way you seem to view things. So there is a 'caste' system among diseases is there?
