"It was an awful start to the game and that's what cost us. They were two really soft goals and we should defend better. We made it far too easy". An accurate summary by Mr. Rodgers of why we lost yesterday. We were curiously impassive from the off (is this a theme for our first half performances this season?) and it was no great surprise when the Arse scored as early and easily as they did from a depressingly familiar set piece.
If (thank you Mr. Kipling) Ramsdale hadn't made that save (The Torygraph asks "Is this the best save of the century?" and Peter Schmeichel tweeted "Best save I've seen for years") from Maddison(who was otherwise anonymous and subbed too late) then things may have turned out otherwise. Rodgers made the right subs at half time and until we ran out of steam at the end we were much more like the aggressive, attacking team we need to be. Arguably Ramsdale was man of the match so we weren't all bad.
Clearly we need to be at it from the start in all games. It ain't rocket science is it?
Keep the faith brothers and sisters!
Thank you Brian, I'm thinking of opening a boutique.
