Played 1 gamePontus
I forgot he had a bad injury didn't he, still great when he came backPlayed 1 game
Watch the game from a hospitality box with some Albion players, comments were hilariousRemember going to West Brom away, played some brilliant football in the first half and we were 3 nil up, second half Spider kalic in goal gifted them two goals and we hung on to win 3-2
Totally agree, that was what I felt was ‘my team’.City fans of a ‘certain age’ (including me) tend to see the Bloomfield team of the 70’s through rose tinted glasses. But I think the 90’s was almost as good. From the day Brian Little arrived until the day Heskey was sold there was a real ‘never say die’ spirit about the club, Maybe never quite as classy as the 70’s side but in the end more successful.
Know where you are coming from but that season we went up under Little was, the Play off final aside, a really awful fucking grind (there were reasons obviously and, yes, a bit of "never say die about it" but, still!) and our first shot at the PL that followed almost unremittingly bad. Either side of that, great fun.City fans of a ‘certain age’ (including me) tend to see the Bloomfield team of the 70’s through rose tinted glasses. But I think the 90’s was almost as good. Yes, 93/94 was a bit of a grind (from the Grinders), but there was still plenty to enjoy along the way, and not just the three play off games. It was, after all, the Speedie season, which got going with four away goals in a week, notably that amazing looped goal of his up at Bolton (I was sunbathing on the base of the floodlight when that flew in). The big following at Man U away midweek, even though we were tonked. The comedy moments in the tiny crowd at the Posh Anglo-Italian Cup defeat (drove up to London Road from London straight after work, to find us already 2-0 down). Doing the double over the Baggies, winning at Pompey. The biggest downer for me was that abject surrender at Meadow Lane, one of the worst performances of that era, which cured me of any dream of automatic promotion.Know where you are coming from but that season we went up under Little was, the Play off final aside, a really awful fucking grind (there were reasons obviously and, yes, a bit of "never say die about it" but, still!) and our first shot at the PL that followed almost unremittingly bad. Absolutely hated that Manchester United game. Not only getting tonked but because of the crowd. Too many approaching it as if we were Anstey Nomads on a once in a lifetime jolly rather than going somewhere we should have been going to every year (well, unless Man Utd were getting relegated of course). And that dire performance at Meadow Lane wasn't the only one in that city (where I was living at the time) that season. But, granted, yes, it had its moments including away wins on some of the longer journeys to Bristol. Portsmouth & Sunderland... but of course it was on one of those longer trips to 'Boro that the season defining Walsh injury happened though I think I was probably too busy dodging the missiles being thrown at us from outside the away corner.Yes, 93/94 was a bit of a grind (from the Grinders), but there was still plenty to enjoy along the way, and not just the three play off games. That game at OT was horrible, whenever we started a chant they turned up the PA, we should've had a penalty early doors, The trip home was a nightmare, at least Colin Hill scored his only City goalAbsolutely hated that Manchester United game.
