FFS I hope this one isn't true.Gerrard can do one
Not sure, but there's hell of a lot of talk about it.FFS I hope this one isn't true.

The Gerrard link originated from Nixon in The Sun.
I doubt they’re seriously considering him but if they are then hopefully they’ll read social media as FT is having a meltdown over it.
I go into every new season/manager being generally positive, if Gerrard was manager that would change. He’s fucking useless imo.
Zidane, Beckenbaur, Cruyff. Guardiola played 47 times for Spain. Ancelotti played more than 20 times for Italy. Cough was a very good player before injury. All the decent managers never made their mark as footballers only know two Robson and Revie
Rumour is that Potter will be given the power to replace anyone. The inherant problem is that whoever comes has to work with a DOF who is not up to it.
Get the right DOF and you will get the right manager....

And maybe this right here is the crux of the issue. I seem to remember a quote from Rodgers when he was here, when referencing the financial situation, that he was in charge of the football side of the club. What is the pecking order? Who precisely is responsible for what? I don't mean in some theoretical "what does a DOF do" kind of way but in the real day-to-day world of LCFC.Rumour is that Potter will be given the power to replace anyone.
If he's prepared to come to the Champs give them to himThey're after Potter but he wants reassurances it appears.
Only Pep has managed in the Prem. But I was essentially talking of home grown playersZidane, Beckenbaur, Cruyff. Guardiola played 47 times for Spain. Ancelotti played more than 20 times for Italy. Cough was a very good player before injury.
…. But agree Gerard and Lampard are crap.
Many a true word spoken in jestIf that were true, I'd do my next post just in my underpants.
Ancelotti had managed two teams in the Prem.Only Pep has managed in the Prem. But I was essentially talking of home grown players
I think the point is that being a very good player does not disqualify anyone from being a good manager. There may even be some advantages at the top level, but on its own it is nowhere near enough. To be a top manager you need to understand football, but also understand how different types of players think, how fans think, understand the politics of the game, and be able to handle the media. You need to be ultra disciplined and pretty ruthless but at the same time need to inspire people. And you also have to ‘suck up’ to owners who are often on a massive ego trip. Lampard, Gerard and Arteta were vaguely comparable as players but only one has anything like the full manager skill set.Ancelotti had managed two teams in the Prem.
To add, it's the personnel they have around them now too. The days of the "my way or the high way" manager are well & truly over.I think the point is that being a very good player does not disqualify anyone from being a good manager. Plenty of others now spring to mind HackneyAncelotti had managed two teams in the Prem.
It was quite late in the summer when we recruited Claudio and look how that season ended.Anyone else got that nasty feeling that our search for a new manager is going to drag on through the summer, limiting the chances for the new incumbent to get the sort of squad they want before the season starts?
Christ - still defending Rodgers - give it a restBuz, the way I read it is this... the club adopted a model of operation in which Seagrave was the cemtre.
But it needed a key head of player and coaching policy.
BR was that man and he came to us on a promise about his head role.
But he did not appear out of thin air. He was recruited by the senior mangement level immediately close to the owner.
He, BR, was made chief of the playing side and all was well. Until a serious problem arose, they got out of shape with FFP..
Although not about the coaching side, it impacted on BR's other role, First Team Manager. This was/is because with a DOF also over the playing side, friction was inevitable. BR realised the limitations of his role and from that moment he lost faith and we are now suffering the effects.
So the DOF had/has ultimate power as he was always gong to have, being closer to the owner .
In this spat, BR was never goung to prevail. Being FTM, BR was likely to shoulder the blame for the slide in the club and easy to blame.
This is what the Inquiry is now going to do.
So the whole project is at risk because of this division of responsibility. Potter or any other Head Coach/Manaer is going to face the same situation.
If this confusion is not resolved this will keep occuring. Time for the owner to step up and learn from the mess.
I look forward to your slant...
