Worst Striker I Have Seen For Yonks

Remember when the rumours were circulating that it was either him or daka we were trying to sign a few years back.
Started to watch some bits of Celtic games to see what he looked like. Saw him miss some chances that would have to be seen to be believed against the likes of st mirren & Kilmarnock. Truly shit.
I hoped that we would opt for this daka chap on the basis that I’d never seen him & he couldn’t possibly be worse.

He has a specific skill that’s rare of managing to be in the wrong place every time not seen many other players with this ability.

If so, why did they send him out on loan?
Probably looks good in training.
I think he was out of contract end of this season, so if he did well here and we wanted to buy him it would cost a hefty fee. Someone at Palarse has some financial nous, not like us unfortunately

Scored a goal every 4 games for palace.
Cost them 14 mill
As you say someone didn't want to let him go on a free so gave him a contract.

We did the same with Choudhury but not sure that has worked out.

Somehow we have to adapt but with players we have, we cannot do that, without l feel bringing in our youths into a few positions, they will at least have something to aim for and not the stagnant lot we have at present
The old saying .... If your good enough your old enough, other teams do it

So who is the absolute worst striker you’ve seen in a City shirt? Most people seem to gravitate towards Akinbiyi, but I think that’s because we paid so much for him.

I present for your consideration, Alan Waddle. Admittedly, I only saw him once, in December 77 at Newcastle, but I always remember that as being one of the worst City performances I’ve ever seen and feeling like we could have played all day and never scored. He was shite and was subbed. We lost 2-0 to a team that was bottom of the league at the time. Waddle played a total of 11 times for us, and apparently did manage to score once.

Who have I overlooked?

BTW, I should qualify my statement above by saying that in 1983 I said to other members of the London Branch that Lineker would never be good enough to play for England, which probably tells you all you need to know about my judgement of players!

Tommy English?

Akinbiyi was shocking for the price. There's a great YouTube video of his misses in a game v Liverpool at Filbo.
BUT I think Trevor Benjamin was the worst striker I saw.
