Being talked about and gaining momentum in some parts.

I love the World Cup, but doesn't the four year gap make it more special when it comes around ?

And what happens to the Euro's, African Nations and South American tournaments ?
 
The reason the World Cup is still thought of as special by many, ( not all ), is it only comes along every 4 years .
I’ve been losing interest anyway . This is the classic killing of the golden goose .

Well I presume we are all football lovers, so what is it with the national team ?
What are we sick of ? The overhyped media around this footballing circus ? A failure to connect with the patriotic mandate ? Or if it's not Leicester it ain't worth bothering with ?
 
For me International Football stopped being watchable when teams like San Marino, Faroe Islands, Gib Point and a plethora of other no mark teams joined the fray making qualifying matches a complete farce and boring.
 
I agree, they should put the minnows in their own group, and then allow probably about 2 of them to join the main qualifiers.
As for the finals, expanding the numbers just waters down the quality of the tournament.
It's all about money.
 
It renders the group games in a tournament a waste of time. It only springs to life once the knockout stage begins.
 
Should just be England v Germany every year with penalties at the end of 90 mins regardless of the score.

The losers are corralled into a pen by lions and have to fight each other to the death until there’s a winner.

I might just watch it then !
