Wolves in a financial mess

i think football finances are fooked the world over. for it to stay viable there should be countrywide, conference wide (uefa, concacaf etc), and worldwide rules about spending.
the biggest problem i see in the uk is the massive money differential between the PL and the EFL.
but they won't do it because of brown envelopes etc.

Here is the alternative reality that could have played out at Leicester. The club is honest about the financial implications of FFP, cuts cloth accordingly, and makes realistic plans for transfer targets.
Instead, the powers that be hid all this from Rodgers, when he had numerous contracts lined up only to be told at the start of pre-season to then be told to forget it all. The club obviously hid it from Rodgers, as they were fearful he would walk out. This leads to learned helplessness and a big 2 fingers from Rodgers saying ok, well this will be a shit show, pay me off and I will go.
General apathy runs through the club like wild ostriches. This brings us to the shit show in which we find ourselves now.
Rodgers deserves a large chunk of the blame. But others are also culpable, failure to move on out-of-contract players and free up funds is also a large reason why we couldn't strengthen in the summer.
Now Wolves have been upfront with Lopetegui, it will be interesting to see if they figure out a strategy that keeps them up.

You say they hid the financial reality from Rodgers, but we only have his hints towards that. Don't be fooled by him, he's a master of spin and gaslighting.

We all saw the way he operates in that first game Vs Brentford. I would suggest coming out all summer talking up his refresh was just another way to try and put pressure on the board. I bet he'd known since previous season of the reality.

But the club should have been open with the fans about it from the start, then he wouldn't have been able to use those tactics.

We wouldn’t have been the first and we won’t be the last team to chase more glory after getting a little bit of it.

We also won’t be the last team to get absolutely rinsed by player agents palming their average players onto us.

Or we’re all these players actually decent but the training and game play under Rodgers turned them to shit? Soumare after all did win the French league.

Do you honestly think these days a manager has absolutely no clue about the financial healthiness of a club.
Do you honestly think after he brought in bertrand, vestegaard, soumare and daka in summer 2021 who have all been shit that there would be no repercussions for the wastage??
