Why aren't the fans kicking off

A pitch invasion at Filbo against Pleat, coincidentally in a 0-3 defeat to Blackburn in the Pleat era and the infamous F... Off Martin Oneill by a large section of the kop during a home defeat to Sheffield Utd followed up by a demo outside which O`Neill fronted up too. So plenty of historical examples
so one pitch invasion, and 2 examples from the MON era which if it had been successful would've meant no promotion or league cup success.
not exactly a ringing endorsement of the power of the people.
i know people shout abuse at games, but in the 52 years i've supported Leicester, i don't remember fans getting as upset as fans from certain other clubs do when we're on the slide. we've been a yoyo club for decades and i think it's built into our DNA to accept stuff like this.

I'm afraid the lack of dissent is due to there being a lot of prawn sandwich and armchair fans there now not like the old days ,still , if we get relegated they'll crawl back to their TVs watching The BCC on sky.
Have you been recently? Where are all these prawn sandwich fans? We have a tiny "corporate" attendance, and what we do have is mainly genuine fans rather than the sort of disinterested day-trippers you find at The Emerates or Twickers – or even Welford Road.
But of course those facts don't fit with your usual PS leftie agenda.....

What on earth has the prawn sandwich brigade got to do with PC leftie agenda?

Remember Jimmy Willis.

Not quite Amartey awful, but he was booed throughout the first half vs Watford. Brian Little subbed him at half time, got the hump with the fans in the Mercury.

Willis only went on to turn his LCFC career round and put in a MotM performance at Wembley (picked by Kevin Keegan) against the Sheep.

Leicester fans have shat it giving grief ever since we upset MON. That how defeat to Sheff Wed when we got relegated should have seen Iain Hume and Ian Holloway booed so much and hard they suffered from tinnitus for the rest of their days.

More than the pitch invasion I remember the very large demo after the Blackburn game outside the main stand (after some time it eventually relocated to the Tigers' Ground for a change of scenery which was a little random) but it was the culmination of many weeks of building anger with Pleat and the board (if I recall correctly usually coordinated mostly from the Wing Stand [market lads?]).

And I am one of those who believe (and always have) that had we not kicked off at the Sheffield United game we would have not got promoted.

Also some buggers waved a white sheet with some words once at Highbury in an attempt to shift Taylor :D. It took a few months to work. The patience showed by the fans for Taylor (of which I am equally guilty to my eternal embarrassment) is probably the biggest surprise on reflection.

I do not accept the inevitability of being a yo-yo club and I don't think that historically we have been less or more upset than fans of a lot of other clubs. I suspect it is just a reflection of a long standing move from being supporters to customers which is probably why most protests these days seem to focus on the boards of certain other clubs more than their managers and that is something that (rightly in my view) isn't going to happen anytime soon down our place.

Somebody ripped up his season ticket in front of the dugout a few years back. :)

Ones I know are brainwashed by sky and the bbc so just go with whatever they say and don’t think for themselves anymore.

I don't think any of our managers last long once they have lost the fans. There is a balance with those that have a bit more faith with the state of affairs and those that are more pessimistic.
Imo the league table over the last couple of months as probably saved BR from dogs abuse.
Not that we have ever been in a good position, but the fact they have been around 14th for a while may have deflected the wrath of fans.
The table now is so hunched up that even today we will probably drop alarmingly if they don't get a result. When people pick their papers up on Sunday and see City on the brink of the relegation zone, that balance I spoke about will come into a much sharper focus. Whilst I am sure that people would like to have seen a more vocal response to our plight, I honestly think it's very close to blowing into a massive volume of dissent.
The ingredients are all there. Consistently poor home form, which is where the majority of fans get to see City. Poor tactics, poor team selection and ultimately poor results. It's been going on for a while, i don't believe the fans will just take it on the chin. Something will happen.

Any sense of agency the fans had disappeared with Top’s refusal to sack him on the several occasions when we expected it. So the prevailing reaction is a shrug and a ‘fuck it’

Yeah I was one who relocated up to Welford Road, a few trying to scale the fence, looks of complete bewilderment from within...
