Who would want the job?

Sacking a manager is never a good time for any club and is never really a cause for celebration. Whilst I am pleased that Rodgers has gone my first thought at the time was that we have left it way too late. Deep down everyone (at last) understands that we are in deep deep shit. Relegation looks inevitable. Sadly, Top (advised by Rudking primarily), have reduced our chances to escape the drop to next to nil.

I hoped that the removal of Rodgers and his cronies might allow Sadler to try something new. As it turned out anyone watching the game would struggle to identify any new thinking or ideas. We started well, as expected, but it all just turned out as many games have in this long dark season. If you didn't know otherwise you would have thought Rodgers was still here.

There are plenty of coaches out there but anyone of any talent or ambition will be avoiding this job unless they are happy to manage in the Championship. Maybe there is someone who has the talent and is prepared to take the long view but the club has so many structural issues that need addressing.

Best time for a manager to take over imo.
When a club is on its knees and not knowing where the next win is coming from, then there is probably less pressure than a manager taking over a successful club. If it doesn't work out they can kind of use the fact that there was more deep rooted problems that were present when they inherited the job.

I'll have it. Then pop on here for the relevant tactical information on a Friday morning.
Managed by the fans for the fans.
Nice big pay off & we all go on the piss around October.

The same question is asked every time we sack manager at any point in the year.
the candidate pool will be much larger in the summer if we keep our PL status.
the immediate concern must be to have somebody short term who can do that, then plan for the long term over the summer.
nobody of note will come here until they know what division we're playing in, unless it's an up and coming coach who wants to make a name.
and i certainly wouldn't want the club to appoint somebody on a contract longer than the end of this season so we don't end up in the position we're in now, but doing it in the championship.
